The Langstrath Country Inn provides quality hotel accommodation in Borrowdale. Set in the jaws of the Langstrath valley in the quiet unspoilt Lakeland village of Stonethwaite 'The Langstrath', a small local family run haven for walkers and lovers of the countryside, was built around 1590 as a miners cottage and has over the years been converted and extended to what it is today.
We have 8 comfortable bedrooms all boasting magnificent views of the surrounding Lakeland fells. Downstairs, there is a spacious residents lounge with open fire, as well as a cosy bar where residents and locals alike share tales of the days Lake District adventure.

Very welcoming and friendly staff who work hard to serve and make everyone happy. Good evening meals and breakfast all freshly cooked. Only criticism was the ludicrously expensive and tiny cheese and biscuits. Warm and comfortable bedrooms and nice bathrooms. Peaceful location and popular with C2C walkers. Great residents lounge too.

The rooms are well decorated and beds comfortable with modern, very clean bathrooms. Restaurant food is exceptionally well presented and very nicely cooked. They have a good selection of real ales and some. other stuff for the ladies. Service was above par even with the current hospitality staffing issues. A nice touch for walkers is the drying room. Bonus points for that. It's not a budget b&b but you get what you pay for and more. Excellent value for money all round.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting with excellent service. Thank you to Matte for looking after us so well. (P.s We left in a hurry and weren't able to provide our tip in person but hope it was received without any issues! Thanks again from the table with the gentlemen who couldn't finish his cumberland sausage)

Stayed here a couple of weeks ago -so some restrictions still in place- however these were well handled by all the staff. We had a wonderful stay, friendly greeting from the staff. We had booked the Garden Room which is apart from the main building but extremely comfortable & immaculately clean with the benefit of its own private garden. Useful residents parking. Included breakfast is extensive & good. Dinner menu was superb & innovative- we could have chosen any of the daily specials. Hope to return soon.
