Situated in the main village of Craighouse and with an ideal setting on the sheltered East Coast beside Small Isles Bay, the Hotel is one of the focal points of the Island's social life. It has magnificent views across the bay with its cluster of small uninhabited islands, a garden shelving gently to the sea's edge, a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and good, varied cooking based on local produce. All bedrooms have central heating, hot and cold water, and tea/coffee facilities, and the majority possess fine sea views.

The staff really make this hotel, they're genuinely fantastic. We had an issue checking in which they promptly resolved whilst offering us a complimentary drink in the bar which was very much appreciated. The staff in the restaurant are brilliant, had a good chat and craic with them over breakfast and dinner each day plus the food is outstanding. Rooms are clean and comfy too with lovely views over the beach.

The Jura Hotel is a friendly small hotel on one of Scotland's many beautiful islands. It is situated in Craighouse, the main, indeed pretty much only, village on the island.(Craighouse is also the location of the Jura Distillery, which offers tours and tasting). The hotel is not a luxury hotel with a spa complex and gym, but a simple comfortable hotel.
Unfortunately there was a limited menu when we visited because of staff shortages. Also, a recent change of ownership from the long standing private owners has also created some future uncertainty. It is now owned by the wealthy individual who owns the Ardfin estate, who is carrying out controversial development in the south of the island. It remains to be see what the effect this will have on the long term future of the hotel.

Very well situated hotel with great sea views. The staff were very friendly and the food good and plentiful. I particularly enjoyed the veggie breakfast and I m not veggie! They also have a lounge you can sit in with books to read. The only slight issue is the lack of TV in the room. Given that nightlife on Jura is not exactly vibrant it would have been appreciated

A great atmosphere created not only by the setting on the beautiful bay of isles but by super-friendly staff who genuinely want to please. Unusual combination of professional, modern customer service with the friendliness and authenticity of a family owned hotel. They are very busy, yet always seem to have time for you. The food is good (not cheap, but fairly priced) and although the menu doesn't vary much it is wide enough to offer a few nights worth of options. Rooms are well appointed, although some are small. A homely base from which to explore a beautiful island.

Just back from a welcome retreat in Jura getting away from it all. Jura Hotel is the only hotel on the island. Stayed in room 10 - overlooking the sea and a great deep bath and walk in shower. Just what was required after we did a 16 mile to see Coryvechan Whirlpool, past Barnhill where George Orwell wrote 1984. The hotel has been done up over the last year or so, and looks like it's just the bar left to do, it has a friendly atmosphere where locals and visitors can mingle.
Good selection of wines and whiskey as you'd expect. Menu was based around Scottish ingredients - great fish and chips, very filling venison pie and a daily changing soup. Cracking cooked breakfast and kippers available as well as cereal & toast.
