Minster Hotel

We stayed here for 3 nights. The location was perfect. Around a 6 minute walk to the Minster, and various shops including a Sainsburys local, on the way. The hotel and our room were spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The staff were all so welcoming, attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they even managed to provide us a fan. The breakfast was superb. Plenty to choose from and they could accommodate everybody. I cant wait to return in August for another stay!

We have stayed there once before. It's ideal base for a city break. It's a short walk to the cities historic attractions. It's clean, has off road parking and the breakfast is more than enough to keep you fuelled up way past dinner time. It's a a good place to stay.

Lovely hotel in close proximity to the cathedral. All the staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and perfect for the one night. Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time too. All fresh, cooked to order and can not fault the continental buffet either. Only down side was the room we had was the highest one on the top floor and there's no lift. (But that's a very minor issue really and to be expected as a last minute booking).

First impression after being told we were in what looked like a concerted garage at the far end of the carpark was not good. But what a surprise, a large room huge bed. Spotlessly clean great night's sleep. Breakfast was amazing all local and fresh. The staff reception and restaurant are really friendly and go above and beyond a real credit. A gem of a hotel

Me and my sister stopped over night at this hotel. The bedroom was immaculate. Bed so comfy. Restful sleep and very quiet. Every member of staff had a smile and friendly. Breakfast was amazing and can not fault the variety of food. The location is a 5 minute walk to York minister and all the shops. The opera house theatre was a good 10 mins walk but a pleasant walk.

We was getting a taxi but the receptionist did say it's quicker to walk there if we could. (Glad we did now ) traffic did seem heavy and slow on the roads. We have found our gem and will always be our first choice to stay.

Stayed over night with partner. The room was lovely, only down side was we'd paid extra for an "upgraded" room and found ourselves in a building in the car park. Unfortunately the guests in the room above us were very heavy footed and combined with extremely creaky floorboards and their enjoyment of walking around constantly from 7am it took the shine off the break.

Very good location, the secure off road parking for5 per day was a bonus. Very clean and comfortable rooms, smelt very nice when you walked in, Good quality breakfast. Only draw back was the banging when people were closing the room door! Very loud! But would still recommend the hotel, as a good hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.

Although this hotel is on the more old fashioned side, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern the rooms were. Good facilities, great breakfast and the car park is super helpful. The staff were also lovely and very accommodating. A few touch ups are needed in some places but overall, a really pleasant stay.

Love staying here and have done so three times now. Unfortunately Covid stopped play otherwise it would be more. We could see that Tony has been redecorating as we stayed in a previous room. Tony it looks great and we really enjoyed staying here! Love the Minster Hotel and Love York.

This hotel is fantastic. Room 4 was very spacious clean and the best bed I have slept in was extremely comfortable. All staff were absolutely amazing going above expectations. They worked hard and were so attentive to everyone. Breakfast was amazing lots of choice and hot. This is our 2nd visit to this hotel and will definitely not be our last. Cannot wait to go back. This place was seriously good. The parking was a huge bonus, room was spotless, missed breakfast so can't comme t and the staff were super lovely. Would absolutely recommend x

Very clean hotel within easy walking distance of York Minster. Cant comment on the food as we didnt eat at the hotel. Staff we've met all seem friendly & helpful. Would definetly stay again.

Well appointed historic hotel close to the old centre. Staff lovely. Breakfasts very well done with a good variety and cater for veggies if you tell them when booking. Would definitely recommend.

Booked here with my mum the night before my wedding as so convenient with the registry office next door. The receptionist was so lovely and accommodating, she helped us get parked when we arrived and the car park was full. We were allowed 1pm late check out which was perfect and then even looked after mums suitcase after we had checked out until after the ceremony.

Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order from menu for mum. I just had continental buffet as I was too nervy to eat with the wedding. Location and staff amazing. Thank you.

Started off as miss. Hubster had booked double room, that bounced to single on Booking.com app which he changed straight away. But when we arrived we still had a single, he'd also forgotten to ask for bottom or lower floor too Gentlemen on front desk was lovely. Only snag the new double room was right at top of hotel. I have bad lungs and getting up there nearly killed me lol.

We asked if possible to change to lower room, knowing they were about full. The lady later on front desk was awesome. Even though only down to second floor, I can manage it, badly, but I can. BIG thank you to front of house staff. Breakfast is brill. Seems cooked to order, or near enough it taste lovely. You get the buffet to use too, lovely couple slices of melon for me All staff seem to bend over backwards for you to give wonderful service That was just first day Other bonus right near York Minster, not far to walk into main part of York.

We stayed here for the first time last night. We could not fault on anything. The building is like a large Victorian house. We booked in at reception. The price was very reasonable considering you get a full English breakfast and parking too. The room was very clean. The bedding was crisp bright white crease free. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, the shower was nice. Toiletries available to use. Fresh clean towels. The staff went above and beyond. We will be back. Thank you to each of the staff whom made our stay very pleasant.

The Minster hotel was fantastic in every way. Super friendly staff, clean throughout the hotel. And a super breakfast with a great selection of both cold and hot food. We wont hesitate to return. Frank Middleton.

Clean and tidy. They replaced a light bulb that was faulty quickly. The breakfast was excellent and plenty of options. All the staff were friendly and polite. The hotel itself is within easy walking distance of the Minster and many other attractions.

Been to Minster Hotel in York a few times now, staff are always friendly and helpful. Rooms have always been clean and spacious. Breakfast has always been plenty to choose from and the staff will always try to accommodate for you if ask, so would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family

Once again a fantastic welcome. Staff are wonderful, so welcoming and friendly. Room as usual is spotless and very spacious. Only 5 mins to York Minster and shops. Would very highly recommend.

Lovely hotel in walking distance to the Minster/Shambles. Staff were so friendly and helpful and our room was very clean, comfy beds and ample tea / coffee and biscuits supplied. Breakfast was delicious. especially the bacon and sausage.very tasty! I was very impressed by how quiet the hotel was especially being so central.there was no traffic noise at all in our room. Having access to the car park was another great facility even after we checked out which definitely saved us money. Great hotel would definitely stay there again and recommend.many thanks

We had our first stay here and was blown away by how friendly and helpful Tony was, nothing was too much trouble! We loved that we could leave our car at the hotel even after checking out while we explored York a bit more. The room was simple yet perfect and clean and the breakfast was beautiful! We won't stay anywhere else now, this hotel ticks all the boxes!

Everything from the helpful staff on reception, to the dining room, rooms lovely, we were and always well looked after and taken care off x
