This mid-18th century family owned former inn offers unique and individual rooms, free Wi-Fi, and excellent views of Rye. Built around 1750 for local sailors and ship builders, The Hope Anchor is thought to have once sheltered the Tenterden Gang, who used its old secret passages for smuggling. Enjoy a delicious traditional full English breakfast or a lighter continental breakfast of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt and fresh fruit salad.
Services
Please help yourself from the buffet to Tea & Coffee or Hot Chocolate, Farmhouse bread for toast and we will serve everything else you have ordered to your table. Beautiful weekend stay. Comfortable cosy and clean bedroom with roll top bath overlooking the under cliff to small river and hills of rye. Walk in shower. Had a small side room too which was lovely if one wakes up early for a cup of coffee and a view. Quiet cobbled street in central south end of old town, 10 min walk through town to rye station and car park. Gorgeous English breakfast provided. Can also have a drink there. No restaurant in the B&B but plenty of options nearby within walking distance.
