Hope Anchor This mid-18th century family owned former inn offers unique and individual rooms, free Wi-Fi, and excellent views of Rye. Built around 1750 for local sailors and ship builders, The Hope Anchor is thought to have once sheltered the Tenterden Gang, who used its old secret passages for smuggling. Enjoy a delicious traditional full English breakfast or a lighter continental breakfast of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt and fresh fruit salad.
Services
Please help yourself from the buffet to Tea & Coffee or Hot Chocolate, Farmhouse bread for toast and we will serve everything else you have ordered to your table. We ask our guests to pre-order their breakfast and book a time to come down, this is to prevent overcrowding and keep the cooking time to a minimum and so reduce waiting times.

Beautiful weekend stay. Comfortable cosy and clean bedroom with roll top bath overlooking the under cliff to small river and hills of rye. Walk in shower. Had a small side room too which was lovely if one wakes up early for a cup of coffee and a view. Quiet cobbled street in central south end of old town, 10 min walk through town to rye station and car park. Gorgeous English breakfast provided. Can also have a drink there. No restaurant in the B&B but plenty of options nearby within walking distance.

A friendly team, providing an excellent service. Special thanks to the young lady on reception who was ever cheerful and helpful and also to the lovely gentleman behind the hotel bar. Really enjoyed our stay in Rye.

Friendly staff in convenient hotel at the top of the town. Large breakfast. The restaurant and tea parlour are closed, but the bar is open in the evenings. No parking.there are cheap car parks about 10 minutes away. You can drive up to the hotel to unload.
