The Highfield Hotel is the only 3 star Silver Award Hotel in Keswick. Our setting is remarkable we're in a quiet location with stunning views of the lake and mountains and yet in the heart of Keswick. We are only a few minutes walk from the town centre and the popular Theatre by the Lake. The property was built in 1885 using local Borrowdale slate in the grand Victorian style of the day.

It has many delightful architectural features which make our rooms so quirky, such as its high turrets, balconies, big bay windows and the veranda which is perfect for taking in the views.

First Floor Report

The Woodford room is the superior house room. This contemporary room has the WOW factor. Being a former chapel, this is an exceptionally large room and furnished with some beautiful antique furniture. The mahogany hand carved bed is a Super King Size bed in the Rocco Style. The room has a raised area which boasts a gas log burner, easy chairs in which to relax and experience the 3D flat screen TV, there is also a DVD player available for your pleasure.The en-suite facilities include a Roll Top Bath where you can relax soaking in the bubbles or refresh yourself in the large walk in shower.

Second Floor Report

Second Floor Room with unique features, leading off from the bedroom area, up a small flight of stairs, is a small seating area in the turret. The views from the Turret are unsurpassed with views of lake Derwentwater, Borrowdale Valley and the surrounding mountains. You can sit and read a book or just watch the world go by.

Enjoy The Highfield's award winning breakfast served daily from 8.00am to 10.00am in one of the most scenic restaurants in the country, according to The Times. Please do help yourself to our selection of Fresh Pastries and carefully Chosen Cereals at the buffet, all while taking in the amazing Local Scenery. 5/5 stars we stayed at East Turret and the rooms were very clean, neat and organised. The view from the bedroom was amazing and we slept like a baby. Location is in a nice quiet area, yet close to the centre with a view onlooking the lake. Food really deserved it's reputation as it was one of the best breakfast we've had at any hotel or restaurant.

Only stayed one night, but would have happily stayed for a few more. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially during the lovely breakfast which is included with the price of the room.

Fantastic hotel with lovely decor throughout, central to the town centre shops, restaurants, etc. The staff go above and beyond. The breakfasts are tasty and well cooked and the choice is extremely good. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Highfield.

On arrival to our room, the views down Derwent water set the scene for a very pleasant stay. Very good breakfast to start our day and all members of staff were very attentive at all times. A very nice location and a pleasure to have stayed here.

Nice room with a balcony with amazing views of the lake and mountains. The room was a good size and nice and clean. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of it and there was nothing that was too much trouble. We would stay here again given the chance.

Fabulous Hotel in the heart of The Lake District. Easy 5min walk into Keswick. Great views from our bay window room overlooking the pitch & put and further to the lake and mountains. Other reviews mention the fabulous breakfast and wow! I can't disagree. First day we tried the full English and then the next day we sampled the Continental and the kippers.

Best breakfast in the whole District I reckon! The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable and had excellent service from the staff. No Covid excuses for shoddy service here! Definitely recommended

Room was so comfy and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delicious and Highfields is the perfect location for enjoying Keswick and the lake and all it has to offer. I didn't come by car but found plenty to do and enjoy for my 4 day break. Relaxing on the Verandah in the evening enjoying a glass of wine was priceless.will definitely come back.

We are a family of 3 and just returned home after 2 nights stay, we booked 2double rooms for me, my husband and our daughter, we had very comfortable Clean rooms and our bedroom had a lake view, the hotel was exceptionally clean and with the present Covid pandemic every detail has been thought through making our stay feel very safe. The breakfasts were fabulous with a great choice. We will definitely return in the future.

My friend and I stayed here for 1night. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with complementary tea, coffee, bottled water and cookies. Lovely full English breakfast available. Tea, coffee and a selection of cake is served each afternoon which we enjoyed sitting in the garden. Well worth a visit and good value too.

This is such a nice hotel in a beautiful location, right accross from the golf course and right near the centre of Keswick. Hotel rooms are lovely and the views from some of the rooms fantastic and rooms lovely and clean. Breakfast really nice with lots of choice and something for everyone. Staff really friendly and cant do enough to help you. Will definitely stay again!
