In today's world of convenience food and huge impersonal hotel chains, it's refreshing to find a charming, independently run hotel, such as Heworth Court. The hotel exudes a friendly atmosphere, a highly recommended hotel, with an excellent reputation. Only 12 minutes short walk from York Minster, with a convenient shuttle-bus route (park and ride service) passing by the hotel, Heworth Court Hotel is conveniently located in the City Of York, and has ample private parking for all of it's guests.The private car park is located to the rear of the main property, and also in front and to the rear of Sutherland House - which is a superb late-Georgian building two doors away.

As the park & ride on the road from Harrogate was closed, I foolishly decided to try & park in York. The car park by the Novotel wanted 10 in coins for 4 hours (who carries that amount of coinage on them?); The credit card reader was broken; there is a phone number you can ring (nice if you own a mobile phone which I don't); you can use an app apparently (ditto last comment). Eventually I just gave up & drove on to Harrogate (which is easy to park in & very nice to visit). Obviously York doesn't want tourists who drive so be warned!
