Hetland Hall

The dining experience was not good. After 4 attempts to order a bottle of red wine I had to accept the house red as none of the previous choices were available. This was for 40 bottles of wine. Then the steak burger arrived looking and tasting like it had been cooked yesterday. But the beef steak pie was excellent according to my dinner guest. At least the wine was complimentary at the end of the day and the service was VERY attentive. I will NOT be back anytime soon.

Beautiful hotel, with a gorgeous spacious room. Friendly staff and good food. However a 13th birthday party was held at the hotel and the kids were left to run riot across the hotel until 5am! Screaming, slamming doors and running around the corridors every few minutes passed our room. Neither of us could sleep and even after 2 calls to reception the hotel didn't stop them. The receptionist in the morning was lovely and apologetic but the point of a hotel is too sleep!

Lovely 2 night stay, been here several times. Rooms and food top class. Staff are an asset to the hotel, very polite and approachable. Hotel set in a lovely setting. Looking forward to our next stay there.

We had a lovely 2 night stay. Regular Rad hotel customers, we had never stayed at this hotel and decided to book a break before I went into hospital for major surgery. Every single member of staff from reception to Housekeeping staff were so helpful and could not di enough for us. We were in room 101 disabled access and it was the most beautiful room.

We had plenty of room to move about with my husbands wheelchair and my crutches. It had a fantastic shower and rails to hold onto and staff brought us an extra seat to seat for lower down in shower. Although there was a seat attached to the wall. Absolutely stunning hotel and the food in the Copper Beech restaurant, was absolutely amazing. We had items from both the vegan menu and a la carte.

The food was delicious and we probably ate too much. We had a look at the wedding reception venue as it was already set up for a wedding the next day, as my daughter is getting married later in the year. It looked absolutely stunning. With the most beautiful chandeliers on the stairway and all over the hotel, you cant help taking photos of this beautiful hotel. Highly recommend a stay in hotel and the disabled access room with every need taken care of.

Lovely 3 night stay in the Eden suite for our wedding in Scotland. Room was perfect. We had a private meal booked in the copper suite for a total of 17 people after our wedding and it was perfect. Maggie who works here is a great asset who goes above and beyond, she really did make our stay feel so special.

Stayed at Hetland Hall for two nights. The hotel is well located and signposted. Plenty of parking. The front end staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms modern, clean and well facilitated. Copper Beech restaurant food was a high standard and promptly served. Waiting staff very friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of selection and staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely hotel on beautiful grounds. Had a very enjoyable relaxing stay. The room and food were fabulous would definitely return. We came for a nice relaxing break and that's exactly what we got. Thanks

This was our second stay at the Hetland Hall we took advantage of the 2 night Christmas break it was tremendous. Fantastic food, great staff, great view over the coast from our room, will certainly be back for another stay. Well done all.

Really enjoyed our three night break after Xmas at the Hetland hall on a Dinner, bed & Breakfast tariff, staff all very friendly, the food was amazing really tasty and well presented. Lovely peaceful atmosphere. Room was nice and quite, comfortable beds. Hope to visit again after Xmas.

Room was lovely although there was a very strong smell of damp in the bathroom, dinner was good and the young girl on the reservation desk was very cheery but when we arrived we found ourselves in the middle of a wedding couldn't get a seat or a drink in the bar eventually got a seat in a small annexe room and when we finally were served we were told the only white wine was Chardonnay which I find strange in a hotel of this size, we had been looking for a nice relaxing break and a seat by the fire ( which had all but gone out) with a glass of wine instead we were in the middle of a stranger, s wedding, think we should have been informed of this when we booked

Just had a 2 night new year stay with family, beautiful hotel, room was amazing with fantastic view, food was first class and all staff that we came into contact with were so friendly could not do enough for us from reception desk to bar staff all waiters and waitresses and the housekeeping team a big thank you, we will definitely be back and hopefully next new year we will be able to celebrate properly. Went for lunch and the food was delicious! The staff were courteous and made you feel very welcome. We didn't wait long and the food was amazing, delicious and everyone enjoyed! Will definitely go back again.well done Hetland!

Loved this place! It's been done up to a very high standard. The bed was so comfy, best sleep I've had in ages. The staff were all lovely and they were able to provide gluten free options on the menu. Entrance has a lovely open fire and a huge Christmas tree. Totally worth a visit, can't wait to go back

Lovely hotel at first look. Didn't stay but it looks gorgeous. Superb views, comfortable lounge and friendly staff.

Beautiful hotel, recently refurbished to a high standard. Staff very friendly and the food was delicious. The grounds look amazing and we would have spent more time in the outdoor bar area if the weather was better!

Located outside Dumfries, this beautiful hotel is set in its own gardens with a view over the Solway Firth. The rooms are very well appointed with very comfortable beds and ample counter space in the bathroom. Food and drink is fabulous, vegetarian dishes are particularly great. Vegetarian Scottish breakfast was delicious, coffee was freshly made and juice was ice cold. Stayed for two nights in November, logs fires were roaring and the welcome was warm. Can't wait to go back

Only there for a meal so can't comment on anything else. The dining area is pleasant, helpful, friendly staff. Good choice of dishes on the menu. The food was well cooked and presented.
