The Galloway Arms Hotel is a heritage listed, quality 10 bedroom hotel lying midway between the town centres of Castle Douglas and Dumfries. These towns are 18 miles apart, so that Crocketford over the years became fondly referred to as 'The Nine Mile Bar'. We are a family owned and managed heritage hotel in the heart of South West Scotland, benefiting from a rural location which is also central.
The Galloway Arms has been serving the needs of weary travellers and visitors to the area for more than two hundred years and pride ourselves on delivering service built upon years of tradition and experience.

Services
The Galloway Arms Hotel is owned by Pat Watson and her daughter Paula and son in law Stuart. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over four decades and re-opened the Galloway Arms with my late husband James Watson (Noky) in 1996. I was born and raised in Crocketford and I was delighted to return to the village where I feel truly at home.
The Buchanites founded Crocketford village in 1787. This religious sect comprised of adherents of Elizabeth Buchan (1738-91), who believed she was the woman referred to in Revelations 12. Elizabeth Buchan managed to persuade others that she had heavenly powers, and they joined her to become the original settlers in Crocketford.
The Hotel has 10 bedrooms, which are all en-suite and have complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers and digital television. We offer twin, double, triple, single and family rooms. If you are travelling with family, our family rooms accommodate a maximum of one double bed and two single beds, whilst most rooms can accommodate a complimentary baby cot for infants.

Stopped on the way back to Dumfries. We had just met up with our daughter and family and was looking for some where we could take in our dogs. This please was more than welcoming to all 6 of use +2 dogs. The food was fantastic and home cooked with proper size portions. I would definitely recommend this pub/Hotel to anyone

Whilst on the drive back to Northern Ireland from Uni, my car unfortunately broke down and I missed my boat home. At the last minute the amazing staff here made me up a room for the night, poured me a pint of Guinness and the next morning cooked me a great full Scottish breakfast, all at a very reasonable price! I honestly can't thank the staff here enough for helping me out when I was so stuck, their generosity hasn't gone unnoticed and I would happily recommend this place to anybody passing through!

Stopped in for dinner on our way through the village. Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We had two hungry kids and a 7mnth pup with us so we were glad of the hospitality, service was prompt and the food was amazing as it's all home cooked pub grub. We had steak pie, lasagne, fish and chips and a burger and all four meals came with fresh salad and vegetables. Definitely be back when we are next in the area.

Had a family dinner here last night after my husband and some family ate here recently. We were 4 adults, 2 children, and a baby. We all ordered different meals and starters and everyone was very pleased with their food. I highly recommend the lasagna which was delicious! Also, great chips. Will definitely be back!
