The folks that work at this establishment are top notch. Uniformly. And that is not a coincidence. These people do what it takes to take care of their guests. The bar and restaurant are very busy. Deservingly so. The free continental breakfast is a culinary delight and the rooms are very nice. Stayed here for a few days and wished it could have been longer.
When we found out we had no hot water in our room the manager came up personally offered us another room on the other wing of the hotel that had hot water. We thanked them and they assisted us into another MUCH nicer room and even offered to have the bar send some drinks to our room. Very classy and very well handled. But I do want to apologize to the Harbourmaster staff, five stars are all they will let me give you guys! Sorry!

Visited while staying near Aberaeron. Went to both the restaurant and bar section on different occasions. Each time the food was very good. I felt the presentation and quality of the food was slightly higher in the restaurant, not to take anything away from the food served at the bar. Some choices you find only in the restaurant, some at both, some only at the bar.
I get the feeling they reserve the more exquisite dishes for the restaurant. For example, the welsh beef in the restaurant is replaced by a burger in the bar section. The served was fairly speedy, without being rushed. The atmosphere in the bar is lively. There are a good choice of beers and lagers on tap too. Overall, well worth a visit. Warning - be sure to book for the restaurant, the sooner the better. We tried booking two days in advance and they were fully booked for the whole evening.

This is a great little hotel, bar and restaurant in the very pretty town of Aberaeron. They have recently extended the bar and restaurant so can now accomodate many more people but I don't think it has lost any of its charm because of it. It really is the place to go in the Summer, people are spilling out of it clutching their drinks and the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly.
If you do manage to get a table to eat in the restaurant the food will not disspoint you. Most of it seems to be locally sourced and it has a very good and quite informative menu. It is a bit pricey, but its still a good place to go for a special occassion. I have taken my 2 oldest children there (8 & 6 years) and they enjoyed it but I don't think I'd want to take my younger two there as it would be too stressful. I've never stayed in the hotel but have heard that it is very nice, the photos in the brochure certainly seem good and it is in an amazing postion.

This is a hotel with a bar and restaurant. Great place to visit. The recent extension has included a much larger bar area which specialises in food. Always very busy and extremely popular. There is a separate restaurant, the food is excellent but I think too expensive. The food in the bar is slightly cheaper but just as delicious. There is a menu but also there will be specials on a board. Seating is a mixture of leather sofas and coffee tables, dining tables and chairs, plus high tables with stools and seating around the bar.
Staff are friendly and very busy. In the summer drinks can be taken outside and you can sit on the harbour wall - superb. You do not have to eat when going in the bar you could just have a coffee. Children are welcome in the bar.
