A sublime setting, in this beautiful part of the border country for all types of rural pursuits - walking, fishing, shooting and golf. A warm welcome and fine food await the discerning traveller. The Talbot Hotel is situated just back from the Berriew bridge over the river Rhiw. The spot is idyllic, and the welcome provided by your hosts Gwyneth & Mike will make you eager to return for more.

A great evening meal, and breakfast at the Talbot hotel. The room No1 was a huge double room with ensuite shower room and toilet. Very quite even Storm Eunase did not wake us up. A couple of good conditioned real ales and a quite lounge, as well as a huge bar with a pool table and several TV's. I loved the black cat which sat on a chair at the top of the stairs, who was very friendly when stroked.

We stranded in mid-wales due to storm and flooding and luckily a kind man helped us to get to this lovely village hotel. Staffs are very kind and welcoming. Family room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was really good and had lots of options for the little ones. We're extremely thankful to the staffs for helping us out in best possible way. Highly recommended for families who would like to spend the time in the village setting. Would definitely stay again!

Incredible Sunday roast! Stopped here on the way home from a birthday weekend in Wales and we're glad we did. Four of us had Sunday roasts, 2 beef, 1 lamb and one with both beef and lamb. All locally sourced produced and cooked perfectly, with a couple of huge bowls of veg to share between us. The beef and lamb were very tasty and so tender. The creamed leaks were to die for too. Crispy roasties and a fluffy Yorkshire pudding and some excellent homemade gravy rounded it off nicely. Can't wait to come back!

Stayed here for one night, lovely quiet village pub in beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff & cat Unfortunately we didn't get to try the menu as no food served on Mondays, although a lovely full English breakfast the following day. Good prices on beer, and pool table : Would definitely return if in the area again.

Come here a couple of times a month. Friendly landlady. Good service. Large portions of food. Had half chicken and chips, husband had scampi and chips. Menu mainly fried foods. No curry or chilli for lunch. However, served hot and quick and fair price. Pleasant surroundings, nice village setting by river.
