Extremely clean and comfortable suite with kitchenette, lounge, private terrace and bathroom. The terrace leads to beautiful gardens and orchard to enjoy or walk the dog. The hosts Kathryn and Richard were very hoslitable and friendly. Breakfast was perfect and as a fussy eater they went out of their way to find me gluten free vegetarian sausages as well as GF bread. We wish we could have stayed for longer! Thank you

I don't do B&B! That may sound pretentious but I like hotels and a couple of bad experiences with B&Bs have done nothing but reaffirm my feelings - well that was until last weekend. A chance encounter with a guide to great little places to stay in Wales and here I am in a B&B but. Penbontbren is not normal. It is quite simply exquisite. At the end of some great little roads you find the entrance and as if by magic Richard is there, anticipating your arrival and within minutes you feel at home and are shown rooms which whilst I am clearly only able to judge based on the room we stayed in, are simply beautiful and not just rooms but expansive suites.
The grounds provide a great sanctuary in which to unwind and the traditional breakfast is served with a panache that simply completes the experience. It sits, quite justifiably alongside great hotels as a fantastic place to stay. If there were to be a negative it is simply that there are no restaurants in walking distance, hence you need to drive however there are some great local places to eat and we will be going back.

An absolutely outstanding experience at Penbontbren. Huw and Richard are fantastic, kind hosts that couldn't do enough for us. Extremely accommodating and helpful. The place is tranquil, well equipped, and has stunning gardens. The room was a fantastic size, and it was a great weekend retreat. We will be returning soon! Book this B&B now!

Staying here is like staying with friends for whom nothing is too much trouble! Lovely suites set in gorgeous gardens and the warmth of the welcome from Richard and Hugh, combine to create a superbly relaxing, luxury break. Faultless in every way - we really didn't want to leave and hope to be back soon.
