I was disappointed with my experience at this hotel. The staff when we entered was unwelcoming and treated my partner like he didn't belong. A little racism I suppose. Then I spent $400 for a night because where i booked it said there was a pool and spa. Turns out pool is closed on weekends and holidays. And the jacuzzi has been broken for months. Had a nice view. Thats about it. I won't be back.

We just came here for Valentines Day and stayed in the city view Penthouse Suite. Most beautiful views and the room was beautiful too, super comfy bed. Everything was so nice. We came back a month later for my daughters 10th birthday and this time we had the lake view penthouse and the views were spectacular especially at sunrise. There were minor aspects of the stay that are annoying like there is mini fridge and wet bar yet there is no microwave?
There were no robes like the website stated and there are minor scuffs and buffs in the bathroom. If minuscule imperfections bother you then you won't like it there. In my opinion the positives by far outweighs the negatives. My kids loved it there and so did I. It's such a great location you get the best views of the heart of downtown, you can see Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park perfectly.
We're definitely coming back, if you're from Chicago or out of town I guarantee you this is the only hotel in Chicago with these spectacular views. And if you stay you have to book one of the Penthouses it's absolutely worth the price, I'm surprised it's not more! Best hidden GEM in Chicago

Such a great experience! For the cost, I have 0 complaints. Beds and the rooms are comfortable and the bath tub is extra long. My 6' husband was able to take a bath. From the 40th floor room view you can see the whole city or the water for as far as you can possibly see. The grab n go breakfast had a lot of variety! I have a million food allergies and they had oatmeal, fruit, and Chex cereal I could have. Seriously, a great bang for your buck for downtown Chicago and with such friendly and pleasant staff

My only complaint is that despite arranging a 1pm check out time, we had three separate occasions where the housekeeper knocked, and the third time she came in despite being told, yet again, that we were not checking out until 1 and are not in need of her services. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and our room had an amazing view of the city.

You stay here for the location. The staff are friendly, and for the location the price isn't crazy, but we stayed in a suite and were disappointed with the quality of the bathroom generally - it's really basic and dated, and there were no robes for the room. There was an iPad provided to use during your stay which seemed like a nice touch but it wouldn't hold charge so was pretty ineffective, one of the bathroom towels was ripped which you don't expect in a high end hotel, and there was no sugar at any of the coffee stations!
We also didn't have a microwave in our room, which there was room for as we were in the suite that had a sink and mini fridge, so a microwave would have fitted no problem. The thing that was a bit annoying was that you can add parking to your hotel bill, but they charge $24/ night, but if we'd just paid the car park directly it's only $17/ night - If understand if there were guaranteed hotel spaces, but there aren't - it's all just first come first served public parking, so that seemed a bit rude! Still, it was clean, and comfortable, and the staff were lovely, so it's still a nice stay overall.
