If I could have, there would be no stars given at all. Worst hotel I have stayed in. Room smelt of mould. Bathroom was worse, the stench of long term mould lingered in there, shower curtain was mouldy. Looks like the repair work was botched by the 'cowboy' in the bathroom as well as the bedroom. Health and safety was certainly not taken into consideration with this hotel.

Roughly every 5 seconds there was a beeping sound coming from the hallway outside our room. The fire exit door was kept propped open with a tin of paint the whole time we were there it wasn't a true fire door as it had a yale lock on it no push bar. I strongly recommend that you DO NOT stay at this hotel. This hotel also comes under the name Sheriff Hotel.

Avoid this place! The pictures don't show the real conditions of the rooms. It's a really old place, unsafe windows, the hairdryer was not working, none of the TV channels had signal, terrible smell in the bathroom. For the price I paid there are much better options. I'll give it 2 stars just for the location.

Dirt, tiny room that smelled of smoke. A previous guest had clearly smoked here, and the window was left open when I checked in to air it out (which failed). Despite free breakfast being advertised, the hotel does not offer food at all. Avoid if possible.

Just don't do it! The place hasn't improved since the reviews. The basement room we paid 130 per might for resembles a cell! The only reason it's not like a prison is due to the fact the windows and doors didn't close properly which was probably a blessing as the fire alarm system was faulty and beeped incessantly all night so we didn't sleep. When pushing for compensation (as the alarm could not be fixed until after the weekend, surely breaching all number of H&S laws) we were offered 15 per night.

When I asked the owner if he thought this was reasonable he reminded me that I had read the reviews and so knew what to expect! There is no attempt to improve this place and the owner has no consideration for offering a safe and comfortable place to stay. How he is still operating legally is a miracle! Unfortunately my naivety has just impacted the problem and now this shocking establishment has my money and shown nothing for it. More fool me! I will be raising it with the local authority and urge you not to make the same mistake. Keeping searching!

Safety Risk - Booked the Sherif hotel next door, but was put in the lower rated Grapevine on arrival. When I stay in a hotel I expect to feel safe. However, as I discovered at the Grapevine the door to my room didn't lock. I tried all ways. It was already night when I realised and wasn't able to find any staff. The next morning I explained to the man on reception, who was rather dismissive.

He came with me to the room and demonstrated the force needed to swing that door shut so it would lock. If anyone was asleep in the hotel; they wouldn't have been after that.

Worst hotel i stayed in my life. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. It was filthy. The mattress was really old. My back and legs are hurting. I felt the springs in all my body during the whole night. The duvet had blod stains.

SCAM SCAM SCAM does not go there, run away! my mom booked this hotel by mistake and when she saw the bad review she decided to cancel it, my mom booked the hotel on booking and on booking they said that no money can be taken and that we can cancel until April, so I called them I asked them to Give us the money back, due that we wanted to cancel, what a shame. this manager and hotel refused to give us the money they take on my mom bank account and literally insult me on the phone If I can give 0 starts I would definitely. now I go to the police. report them.

We arrived during the afternoon, the receptionist was not cheerful at all, then, she indicated that our room was in the basement. We went there and the room did not look at all like the pictures. At the beginning, I thought it would still be ok (even though a missing lightbulb). There also was nowhere to put our stuffs in the room, there was something to hang some clothes (see picture) but no hanger. Than, in the bathroom, no shower curtain to separate the shower and the toilets (as it was very small, you can imagine the issue).

Another issue (the more annoying one), was a noise coming from the corridor (bip.bip.bip.) all the time. We had 2 doors and a small corridor to separate from the main corridor where the noise was. They said it comes from an issue in the fire system and they cannot stop it. We heard other customers complaining but it did not seem to alarm the hotel personnel.

We asked if we could get another room because to sleep it would be very difficult and they said no, in a very rude way, saying that we only booked one night so it was our problem. I do not recommend it at all, we paid 90E for this, which was one of the worst places I have stayed in so it is totally NOT worth it.

1. Room is very dirty. 2. They don't clean the rooms everyday. 3. They don't change the sheets and towels everyday. So if you are staying for a week then you just have to keep on using the same towel for a week. 4. There are 2sockets available on a 3 or 4bedroom (2single bed and a double bed). 5. TV is broken. 6. Not worth it

Rooms very small and not clean bed was very uncomfortable and lop sided bathroom wasn't clean shower head disgusting no door handle on bathroom door so couldn't closed had to be closed from the outside. Door had to be open by my partner once it was closed. Poor lighting in and out of the bedroom. Stairs could do with a new carpet as I had tripped over it at one point.

At one point throughout the night you can hear the room next to you snoozing and using the bathroom. The staff was OK on the one occasion we spoke to them couldn't find anyone to complain about the room. Had to go into the next hotel to get the keys

Awful, quality is poor, rooms and stairways are scruffy, main door is not secure and door to room didn't lock well, the room was poorly maintained. was in the room 10 minutes and found rodent droppings, had to leave the hotel and demand a refund. Don't waste your money or risk your health here! Not worth the one star review but can't post without it!

I can understand the staffs working here with passion for earning a pound. But a jail cell is better than here because it will never leaking in the midnight and its bathroom will never backed up. Most important a jail cell has a toilet and it cost no money bacteria full of bed too itch to sleep.

This kip is not what advertised! Our welcome was a sign saying check in at reception at the sheriff hotel, which had a nice entrance hall, I noticed the 5 star food hygiene sticker on the door, obviously how. they are scamming keeping the attached grapevine hell hole open, we were handed a key and told which key opened what. First impressions when opening the door.

A derlict dwelling a musky smell we travelled down the corridor which led us to a narrow stairs ( had to be fire breach) our welcome to our room were two rodent bait boxes (empty), inside we were over come by the smell of sewage, ensuite door hanging off, ceiling bulging from a leak upstairs, tiles hanging off the walls, silicone.

Easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in London. Cramped, ridiculously small rooms. Dirty. Dilapidated. The photos they put up online lie. The toilet in my room didn't function as the seat was missing. Towels were stained. Shower head sprayed everywhere which made the actual shower very well. This place should be shut down.

This place will blow your mind, the in house diy repairs are out of this world, the walls and ceilings have been covered with plaster board and fittings have been sunk in to it, plant pot to hold window open, really is a pig sty. A truly amazing experience ha Ha

Dear people, I highly recommend you NOT to go to this hotel! We stayed here for three days, with good expectations. We already knew it wouldn't be high class, but since our goal was to visit London and not to stay in our hotel room, we didn't mind a little lack of comfort. However, a not working shower and constant noise during the night is not. what I call a 'little bit of discomfort'!

We had room 19A, next to the breakfast room. So every morning, starting from 6 am we heard every noise. Water running down the pipes wasn't an exception either, just as slamming doors. About the doors, we had one door we had to open before we could open our actual door, something I wouldn't mind if we actually could close this door on a decent way.

The door to our room we couldn't even close. The bed wasn't too bad in the beginning, but after three nights my back hurt like hell. I'll ask for a refund, since it wasn't worth a penny or euro!

This has got to be the worst hotel I ever stayed in. It rained through a closed window. Doesn't look very secure, but there are cameras. My room was very tiny and smelled of mildew. This was a no smoking hotel, but I was on the first floor and the smoking section was right outside the window. If I opened the window to let the mildew out I'm letting the smoke in.

There was a nicer room upstairs on the 4 floor, but with a shared bathroom on the first floor. I tried getting a refund to go elsewhere, but they were not allowing that. There were several hotels closer to Victoria Station that were less expensive and much nicer. Looks nothing like the pictures you see posted. The only good thing is the location to Victoria Station and good access to public transportation several dining spots and a few sights to see. Seems to be in a nice safe area of town, even after everything closes.

Traveled from Los Angeles and arrived in the U.K. to start a vacation with the worst hotel experience at the Grapevine. The hotel didn't seem to be ready for guests, and we were shown to a small basement room, having to clamber over painters equipment to get there. The room was disgusting with dirty marks all over the carpet, mould on the ceiling and in the shower, sheets which were too small for the bed, and a shower which dangled from its heater with no hook and could only be turned off by turning off the electricity in the corridor outside the room.

Other problems, the smoke alarm had been removed from the ceiling and the fire escapes were partially blocked with painter's equipment. There were holes in the shower wall and the extractor fan didn't work. The bathroom door was swollen from water damage and could not be closed completely let alone shut and locked. The first time we tried to use the door handle inside the bathroom, it fell off.

There was no bath mat - just mouldy tiles to walk on in the bathroom and three requests for a bath mat did not get one. The free wifi in every room didn't work in the basement we were given. On the bright side, we checked out after a few hours and were promised a refund. After we returned to Los Angeles, it only took one email (with a couple of photos showing fire hazards) to get a full refund and an apology.
