Glyn y Coed is a Victorian house in Criccieth, on the coast of North Wales, overlooking the sea, castle and mountains. All of our rooms are en-suite, and we are currently offering 'minimal contact' room only accommodation. We are following all current government legal requirements and guidelines, and need all guests to do the same. Face masks must be worn indoors except when you are in your own room - there are no indoor 'shared areas'. Take care to observe a physical distance of at least 2 metres from people not in your party.
Services
Overlooking the sea, mountains & castle, Glyn y Coed is located in the picturesque coastal resort of Criccieth, on the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula and very close to Snowdonia. We are just minutes walk from the beach, castle, stylish restaurants, individual shops, cafes, train & bus stops. In summer, the town full is of colour with hanging baskets and tubs.
Glyn y Coed is a Victorian house with en-suite bedrooms including superior sea/castle view rooms and standard double & twin rooms. Our double front-facing bedrooms have spectacular views overlooking the sea, castle and mountains - all with bath/shower en-suite. Our standard rooms on the back have double or twin beds with bath/shower or shower.
We have stayed all over the world and this ranks near the top for friendly service, cleanliness, a warm welcome & value for money! Fabulous room - lovely attention to detail - Quality surroundings - Thank you for a wonderful stay! We did not move the car for the three days that we stayed in Criccieth and caught the train and bus. So much to see and do and the restaurants really are excellent.
North Wales offers an unrivalled choice of scenery and activity to the discerning visitor and particularly attracts the walkers, climbers and cyclists. The close by Snowdonia National Park covers 823 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in Wales. Unlike "wild" National Parks elsewhere in the world, Snowdonia is home to just over 26,000 people, who live and work in its towns and villages and on its hill farms. We won't pretend that North Wales has the best weather, but when those hot and sunny hot blue-sky days happen, there is nowhere else to be.

We came here after we had a terrible night's sleep at another accommodation on a sofa bed. It has just been taken over by sue and the guys. They helped us out at very short notice. And we couldn't be more thankfull. Such friendly people. Would recommend to anyone. Lovley bedrooms and great showers. Thanks guys!

We had a fantastic stay at Glyn-Y-Coed with Julie being an amazing host who couldn't do more to make our stay comfortable. We took her advice and booked our evening meals in advance so when we arrived all we had to do was enjoy ourselves. The room we stayed in was newly decorated and very smart and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and is to be recommended.
We had a great time and Julie gave us information on places to visit so we kept ourselves busy apart from a day sitting on the beach in the sunshine eating ice cream. Lovely! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be coming back in the future.

Spotlessly clean. Julie and her team work like a well oiled clock to provide excellent accommodation in the teeth of a difficult pandemic. Our stay from 12th September to 21st September was really enjoyable in a superb Seaview Room with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Superbly cooked breakfasts set us up for the day. We will return to this b and b I am sure. hxr

Fantastic location, great service and facilities. We stayed for five nights during early August 2020, just as the country was coming out of lockdown. Our host Julie and her team were utterly professional and diligent - not just in the necessary post lockdown activities but also in the routine aspects of running a healthy guesthouse. Our rooms (we had a double and a twin for our two children) were perfectly furnished with everything needed and great wifi. Cleanliness was perfect, breakfast was excellent. Criccieth itself was lovely, and the castle and coastal views - well, one can never tire of looking at them. All in all a brilliant stay and we will certainly return.

Amazing stay here! Will definitely be booking again! We stayed here as we were visiting all the different zip World sites and it was convenient to drive to them. They made us feel comfortable from the beginning, even gave us a free room upgrade! The breakfast was lovely and the owner gave us a wonderful recommendation for a restaurant on the front! Super cute place to stay, super clean and super friendly! Thanks again!

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in a very nicely decorated and clean room. The breakfast room and guest lounge have super sea views. Breakfast was really good, a big choice, and all presented well. Julie was very friendly and helpful and recommended where to eat locally in the evenings without having to drive. A very enjoyable few days. A big thank you Julie.
