The George Hotel An 18th century coaching inn of character with open fires, a wealth of beams & horse brasses, standing in the cobbled square of this pretty Georgian market town. The George is a friendly, family-run Inn, enjoying an excellent reputation for good food in both our Restaurant & Courtyard Bar, together with some fine wines & real ales. For those who enjoy browsing, Easingwold is full of antique treasures, whilst being only a short drive away from the centre of York with its many historic attractions.

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Easingwold. Has been recently done out and is really lovely inside and out! Food is gorgeous and it's doggy friendly

Excellent service and food. Went in thinking we could only eat one course, but ended up having three! Superb.

Went for a funeral wake, the service was excellent, the food was delicious and fresh. 1st time in this pub but will definitely try it again when we are in the area.

We booked 16 rooms at The George for a whole weekend for our son's wedding to accommodate our side of the family. Our stay was absolutely exceptional and all the staff are charming and so helpful. We had a wonderful special meal on the Friday night and many people were still there for the excellent Sunday roast on Sunday evening. We cannot recommend it enough. Thank you for helping our whole weekend be such a happy event. Frances Hainsworth

Has quickly become one of our very favourite restaurants. We live in Easingwold, so this review is only of the restaurant and bar. The George Hotel's current owner took over just before lockdown, but has weathered the pandemic storm, and come up smelling of - well, all sorts of pleasant aromas emanating from an excellent kitchen. We've eaten there more than half-a-dozen times this year, and every meal has been a special treat, with good, wholesome, very fresh food, packed with flavour, excellently prepared, and appetisingly presented - and courteously served by a very willing and able staff.

The starters are not too big, the mains are incredible, and the desserts are mouth-wateringly delicious. There's an extensive (though not offputtingly so) wine list, and a range of draft real ales and keg beers are on tap too. And all in very comfortable surroundings. Heartily recommended.

If I could put more than 5 stars I would. Thank you so much to Paul the manager, Tom, Gaby and many more of the lovely staff for making our honeymoon stay so perfect. Absolutely wonderful place. And an awesome roast dinner. Chef and food are fantastic. Just revisited for Easter and it's utterly brilliant. One of our favourite places.

Very disappointed. After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to eating here but sadly left unsatisfied. Booked a table for myself, my wife and my baby daughter for 6pm. We were put in a seperate dining room probably because we had a baby, even though she was fairly quiet, we got some dirty looks from some older patrons. My burger came with store bought fries, something I don't understand when home made chips are much nicer.

My wife had supposed triple cooked chips with her steak which weren't cooked all the way through. The staff were pleasant enough but it felt they couldn't wait to get rid of us by offering us the bill pretty much as soon as plates were cleared without even being offered the dessert menu. Disappointing.

Called today for Sunday lunch. I say called, we did a 110 mile round trip as we love the food here. Once again, very accommodating towards us with a 2 year old on our hands. The food was excellent as ever. How they produce a 3 course Sunday lunch of that standard for 18.50 is beyond me. The bill for 3 of us (2, 3 course and 1, 2 course plus drinks) was 63. Outstanding service and quality once again. Would love to stay for a weekend (without the kids.).
