The George and Dragon Hotel is a very unique place, created by combining the original 17th Century Coaching Inn with the adjoining rectory and Cornmill to make a 20 bedroomed hotel of real charm, a haven of hospitality in the sleepy market town of Kirkbymoorside ("church by the moor"). Ideally situated between Helmsley and Pickering in the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Rich in history, heritage and beauty, the G & D has a real 'olde English' pub atmosphere hard to find nowadays. Serving top-quality food, local real ales and a great selection of wines.

Romantic events take place in special places and usually the perfect restaurant. For most couples, a celebration by candlelight, with excellent wine, accompanied by a scrumptious meal, and a lot of privacy is what they desire. Any restaurant that can create this atmosphere is one that knows how to cater to one of the strongest.

The owner should be less avaricious and put more personnel in place. The poor lady attending has to prepare the drinks, meals, attend the customers and telephone. Not fair for her!

An English pub at its finest. Step in and enjoy your time. English beer granted. We went to this pub because we had a reservation for the back area (for an event). The entire service (with drinks, some snacks, salad, fries) was flawless.

As far from a pub as you can get! No football, no Sunday roast and the menu is definitely not British. The only thing close to a pub is the Guinness.
