Apart from the great views across the bay and the staff being nice and friendly not a good hotel, my window frame was so badly corroded that someone had attempted to seal it shut with expanding foam but had left a small gap, the curtains were covered in stains from where the water has previously leaked in and the family of seagulls 3ft away from my inoperable opened window was maddening. You can tell that this used to be a great hotel but it needs some serious money thrown at it, as in its current condition it's practically crumbling

Room and general hotel condition was poor, cracked mirrors, cracked floor tiles in bathroom, rusted sink plug. Bed was like sleeping on concrete, pills were very thin and poor quality. Tiny bathroom - one at a time! Reception welcome was at best lukewarm! Housekeeping staff were lovely. Breakfast, had better. Hotel needs TLC and investment. Wouldn't stay again if I was paid!

Very Disappointing. Stayed in room 125, 75 per night but usually 95. It has clearly not been cleaned properly in months, even the cobwebs, of which there were many, were dusty. The walls needed painting, the 1980's carpet was very thin in places. The toilet roll holder was broken and to use the toilet you had to sit sideways due to there only being a 2ft gap from the end of the bath.

The bed was clean but the mattress was so uncomfortable we felt a trip to the chiropractor may be necessary on waking up this morning. The TV aerial trailed 4ft across the wall to where the TV was located and fell out twice. The TV had obviously been fixed to the wall at some point as the fixing points complete with rawl plugs were left on full display. There was no luxury or love in the room which you would expect for the money paid. Would not stay there again.

Lovely quaint hotel in nice sea views. I would say that for us, the fact they are so dog friendly made the place. The evening meal was pleasant with a good choice on offer, however the breakfast was exceptional! The staff, especially Donna, were so welcoming and accommodating. This hotel is run like a family business by the staff which is warm and welcoming.

Nothing is too much trouble. My only criticism is directed to the Whisper Group who own it - this hotel is in need of refurbishment - don't let your staff and guests down by not injecting some cash back into this potential goldmine!

Bought a 2 night stay through travel zoo as a short break treat. Welcome was good, efficient and friendly. Room very clean, all facilities expected were in place. Room not huge but not cramped either. Quiet, more importantly, with lovely sea view. Unfortunately in the morning, a rather temperamental boiler meant no hot water. We were then moved, upgraded actually, free of charge to a beautiful room.

So no complaints! All in all, staff friendly and efficient, breakfast very good, rooms being refurbished in turn, so some smarter than others, a charming old Victorian hotel with s nice feel, good location for seeing more of the area, good eateries within distance, we tried JT@ 3, and The Royal Oak, both excellent food.

Photographed a wedding here, and I must admit, what a beautiful place. The outside isn't exactly much to look at, but there are new owners here, and that are working on it. The inside is beautiful, stairs are a bit of a killer, lots of small steps, but the food is absolutely stunning. It seems to be very cheap stuff bought it, but my my, they do a good job of cooking it and seasoning it. It was a delight to be photographing such a beautiful wedding at such a beautiful place.

Really friendly staff and good service, quite an amazing building as well, little bit dated but that adds to the aura. Food was pretty good and so was breakfast. The rooms were yet again dated but bit and had a new TV in mine the bed was comfy and the WiFi was fast, ticks all my boxes, would stay again. Also a lovely view if you get a good room. Would have been interesting to have a look wound but didn't have enought time with work

This hotel has a lot of character, it's in a great location and the breakfast was decent considering the price paid. However the building is looking tired and the interior of the rooms even more so. I expected Manwell to be serving me breakfast after i saw the 1970's decor. Most rooms seem to have twin single beds which need to go, mattresses are in appalling shape so expect a poor nights sleep. On the plus side the staff were really friendly and accommodating without being over the top.

Brilliant dining room staff. As my daughter didn't like anything on the menu, we asked could she just have a plate of chips, but eventually had a lovely cheese salad, with 3 varieties of cheese, side dishes of salad dressing, and also sweet pickle.they did this each of the 4 nights, with slight variations on the salad, and also served a jacket potato in lieu of chips one night.

All the food was very good. Our room was clean, warm, comfortable, with a balcony looking onto the water and beautiful scenery. Water and shower were fine. We enjoyed ourselves very much, and wouldn't hesitate to return, or to recommend the hotel to anyone. There were 33 people in our party, plus Driver, and we all agreed on it being a lovely hotel, with fantastic staff. There were

Great location, but needs updating! Friendly staff. The hotel is in desperate need of a serious revamp. Small old TVs, wallpaper hanging off, not nearly enough plug sockets as everything in my room was hard wired. Free fast Wifi. Have included some pics. This place could be really nice but would need a serious injection of cash.
