The Fernlea Hotel

Usually stay next door at Dalmeny, unfortunately it was fully booked so stayed at Inn at the Prom. Hotel needs a massive refurb. Rooms very old and staff not so professional. Won't be back again.

Booked here last minute as the hotel we were in before was dire. Not only did they accommodate us they upgraded us to a suite. From walking in the hotel was a breath of fresh air. Fabulous quick check in. Pleasant staff, rooms were amazing and Comfortable beds. Fully equipped with all your needs for a break away. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Use of the pool and leisure club massive hit with the family. Hotel was impeccably clean. Beds made up every day with towels replaced and room the serviced. Location is perfect right over the road from the beach with a cut through to the town with some nice little boutique shops coffee shops M&S and many more. Fabulous park in the town. Free parking.

Didn't want our holiday to end, Most definitely will be returning. Whoever owns this hotel has done a great job in providing a pleasant relaxing stay for their guests. Their staff do their upmost to ensure you have a wonderful experience. Hats off to you Inn on the prom. Will most definitely be returning

Lovly place and staff breakfast was great.and enjoyed a few pints at bar and was able to bring the dog for an extra 10 pound parking no problem.but couldnt sleep as very hot and stuffy even with window open

The room we stayed in was very tired and dated and we felt it needed totally upgrading however it was clean, we would return to the hotel as locations was just perfect although would look to seek a different bedroom. The reception area was lovely, modern and

Very good holiday venue. Staff friendly, professional and helpful. The band on Easter Monday was excellent. Jojo was good entertainment one evening. Tony was not good.

Can't fault this hotel, great location, free parking, comfy beds, friendly staff & great amenities. Pool with sauna and jacuzzi, snooker room, mini games room. Lobby area was nice and clean, bar prices weren't too bad either. Breakfast was OK and hairdryer in room with towels changed daily. Will defo return to this hotel in the near future

Hotel is lovely. Great location. Staff very helpful. Breakfast lovely and fresh. Was extremely cold in lobby and when eating dinner in hotel and our bathroom had no radiator and was freezing all the time. Shower was either scolding or freezing and was so slow with no power I'd be quicker turning a bottle of water over me. Rooms were beautiful and well equipped but could have been hoovered before we arrived as obviously hadn't and had a lot of debri on the floor. For the price disappointing

Booked twin room for my sisters nostalgic trip and birthday. The twin room had sea view, tired wallpaper miss matched curtains, dusty room, finger marks on window. In the bathroom cracked sink, shower curtain hanging off and wonky hot tap. Not the room I thought I had booked for 144, We went down to bar for a drink no seating available so watched tele in room.

Breakfast we arrived at 8.45am, to find no fruit salad left as member of staff told us. So went to hot counter we asked for poached eggs, you will have to wait for them being cooked he said, so we had scrambled egg. Service was not very good we felt the staff just could not be bothered. All in all not a good experience for myself and my sister who had travelled up from the South. Would not stay again We came when the hotel was the Fernlea. No comparison. Very dissapointed.

Fab Xmas party. Was a bit worried about mixing with so many other people but tables were spaced out and it wasn't chocker. Meal was delicious and entertainment from a group called Flip. Great night had by all.

Always a warm welcome, home from home feeling. Food was really good and very accommodating for those of us who like to alter the set menu a bit to suit our preferences. Great location on seafront and not too far to Blackpool Tower Ballroom

Had an extremely well oiled Christmas party on December 4th 2021. The hotel manager sadly was unaccomdating and rather rude this was unfortunate as the event would have received five stars. The set meal was small but delicious. The decorations provided the festive atmosphere. The staff polite. The entertainment thrilling and kept us up dancing from start to finish. I took a sauna and jacuzzi prior to party well worth the 35 a night including breakfast for a double family room. Be it I was a lone traveller.

Lovely food and great staff-especially the young breakfast staff. Unfortunately, I would think twice about returning as room was dreadful and we paid extra for a boutique room. oppressive, dated, tired, dirty in places-was pleased to leave it! Even sofas in lounge area were grubby.

You need to investigate the Sunday Club, fantastic value for money. I have only given 4 Stars as some areas of the Hotel need an aesthetic update. Front of house and initial impressions are very opulent, however, if this was a new hotel, and you went around the whole place with a clipboard checking, it would not get full marks. We did get some plumbing smells in the bathroom, it wasn't me, honest!

Stopped for a couple of drinks and some food after hearing some live music. The musician was great and the fish and chips were excellent. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is the bar service was incredibly slow.

Great live music and atmosphere sat outside this hotel. The umbrellas were good for keeping in the shade from the sun. Good selection of drinks and helpful having an outside bar too (including Peroni on tap). Service was slow at the indoor bar sadly, with a member of staff overcharging us. Thankfully it was dealt with promptly so can't complain

Brilliant place to stay. Hotel was perfect, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely. The bar outside is fantastic too. The food was lovely too. We will be back.

Stayed 3 nights in "boutique"room. Very dated. Carpet worn and stained. No safe in room as advertised! Door didn't close properly. Definitely not worth the money paid. Splashed out for 60th birthday thinking it was special, wrong! Breakfast was nice. Always hot, nice service. When checking out was hit with bill for meal from bistro. We had not eaten at hotel whilst there. Was told " you left without paying" No, we didn't eat there.

After discussing their lack of security and that they probably should check peoples keys before taking orders they agreed we weren't there! Won't be going back. Premier inn down the road is of much better standard. And a lot cheaper.

Looks great from the outside but rooms are dated and dirty. Sold as luxury 3 star by harmony coach tour but was in fact 2 star basic or less. We wee so looking forward to out 4 night stay but so very disappointed by the food, room and hygiene in rooms. Have stayed in 2 star basic hotels which were far superior and didn't cost the inflated price of this dirty and dated hotel
