Our hotel is styled in an understated and contemporary way with a range of cosy and luxurious rooms to choose from. There are plenty of areas to relax in too from a comfortable sitting room, cosy bar and extensive gardens for afternoon tea in warmer weather. We hope to cater equally well for walkers and lounge lizards alike!
Smart and unfussy, our menus provide contemporary cooking at its finest in both formal and casual environments. The English Lake District is a wonderful place to take your holiday or short break. Not only does the area boast some of the most beautiful scenery in England but it also has a remarkable heritage; the poet William Wordsworth and the children's author Beatrix Potter both lived and wrote here. The Eltermere lies nestled in the beautiful Langdale Valley in the stunning village of Elterwater.

Lovely old Inn, very clean and tidy and lots of interesting pictures. Spectacular scenery and pretty gardens. Parking is a little bit tight at busy times. We only had breakfast as the vegan choices are limited. This was very evident in the morning when I had beans, one hash brown, along with some cold avocado and what looked like wilted spinach. Not very appetising, despite telling them about the vegan breakfast when booking.
On the plus side, my other half enjoyed his fruit and granola before the full English, although they forgot his toast! There was almond milk for drinks, which was good. The room was OK, although we weren't impressed by the short tap on the washbasin. Bathroom was clean and reasonably sized. Sprung bed not comfortable for me but I'm sure others will like it.

Had lunch here yesterday, the bartender/waiter was just the best, and when they had ran out of a certain item on the menu they helped us mix and match what they had to make a big enough salad type option for lunch. The salad was very fresh and tasty and so was the fish and chips. Amazing view from the front lawn.
