For the price of the room I felt it was outdated. We got woken up when the sun come up due to no blackout curtains or blinds. Shower didn't drain properly and went cold during my shower. The room wasnt cleaned properly found receipts from previous guest. The breakfast was awful over cooked left in food warmers. Eggs was like rubber hashbrowns was like cardboard.

Horrible experience in this hotel. We chose this hotel because of the location, we thought it will be a relaxing weekend, but it ended up far from it. Golf players are the worst. In the early morning they are parking right under the windows in front of the building, if the window is open, it is impossible to sleep after 7am. The hotel could easily make sure what only hotel guest can park in front of the hotel. but they seem not to care.
Also some guests are smoking under the windows, so the smell penetrates into the room. During our last night, at 3AM some crazy or drunk neighbor heavily knocked his door for 15 minutes until someone came ( probably night manager). And finally the cherry on the top, in the morning we have no light and no water. "Enjoy" your stay!

The rooms are lovely and spacious just not quite luxurious enough to warrant 5 stars. Service at the reception desk and bar was good, however the staff could have been a lot more helpful at breakfast time. My advice is to get an early breakfast. The location was perfect for us - just on the edge of Dartmoor. This might be too remote for some.

Booked a spa day for myself and my bridesmaids. Not quiet what I was expecting for such a lovely venue. Used the swimming pool but unfortunately other facilities were too busy and didn't have time to wait due to facials booked in. The facial was lovely but unfortunately had to wash my hair straight away as she didn't cover my hair and got oil in my hair.
We had afternoon tea which was really disappointing, had to remind the staff that we were still waiting for our coffee and due to a wedding we had to sit in the normal bar area which wasn't ideal with trying to have a relaxing time. I was pre warned that we would be in a different area due to the wedding but didn't expect to put sat in a bar with drinkers. When you pay over 140 for a spa day I expected to feel at least a little bit pamperd.

Quiet a disappointing stay! When you pay over 130.00 per night, you expect the room to be amazing, but it was far from that! Decor is very dated, the furniture is old fashioned but not antique. The tiles in the bathroom were awful! Breakfast was buffet style and staff grumpy. I have had far better experiences in B&B's at a fraction of the price. It was supposed to be a nice treat, but it really wasn't.

Went for a spa day. Staff was really good Cream tea and coffee was good. Massage by Jo was excellent. My partner's massage wasn't't the best, she seemed to be new so that might have been the reason. Facilities.not so great. Changing room was small and cold. One of the jacuzzis were out of order and quite a lot of broken tiles in steam room and poos. Loads of kids playing in the pool area, not what you want when relaxing but overall an okay afternoon.

Booked through spaseeker for a spa day. Georgia's massage was fab and all staff were lovely but just didn't feel like a spa day and it was obvious other people were feeling the same. If it weren't for a fab massage we'd both have come away disappointed. Building looks tired, decor was quite run down. Steam room and sauna were very basic, hot tub wasn't working.
Hardly any chairs by the pool to even sit down, we could see the staff were doing their best, hardworking and really friendly but the day had been advertised quite differently to the reality of what the set up was capable of providing. As a hotel I'm sure it's more than adequate with a big pool for kids and parents but not a relaxing atmosphere. It's a hotel with a leisure centre, not a spa.

Played 18 and stayed in the hotel. Rooms were spotless, swimming pool and amenities were exceptional. Food to a very high standard. It would be unfair to rate it lower than 5 star, but typical of a hotel, food and drinks were expensive. Especially past 11:00 you'd be looking at 17.50 for a double rum and coke.

Fantastic Hotel Room was very spacious, clean, quite and extremely comfortable beds. They catered for my daughter with several allergies really well and gave us confidence to come back again. The pool and leisure facilities are first rate and the kids had a great time playing in the smaller and larger pools. Again the staff were polite, efficient and extremely efficient.
I'd like to add that there was a wedding on in the main hall and we were a little worried about the noise, however we all slept very soundly and couldn't hear a thing. Thanks to the hotel and the staff, we had a great stay.

Came for a wedding, an absolutely stunning venue with beautiful scenic gardens. The whole day went so smoothly and felt like the most chilled wedding ive been to. The room was set beautifully throughout. Plenty of toilets/parking on site. Rooms looked stunning. Service was ok. Staff were friendly welcoming and helpful.

Today we had a lovely afternoon in the conservatory, for a small hen party. This was originally booked for the terrace, but due to bad weather, the hotel was able to set up small tables in the conservatory for us. The hotel staff were very accommodating and very mindful of Covid safety procedures. The afternoon tea was delicious and the staff were very friendly and happy to top up tea/coffee pots. I would definitely recommend

Wonderful spa treatments by great staff, very welcoming and professional. The pool got very crowded after 3PM, so maybe consider a morning session if you want more peace. Also, very little seating by the pool (or on the slightly unloved patio), so consider this if you like to read in a lounger. Bring your own drink, as there isn't anything available in the pool area.
