This was the first time I had stayed at this small Victorian Hotel and if you don't like Premier Inns or Travelodges and don't want to pay the earth for a hotel in Canterbury - maybe consider staying here. The rooms are clean and tidy with comfortable beds and on the occasion I stayed - quiet. There a quite a few stairs so people with mobility issues might find those difficult.
The staff are friendly and helpful and there was a comfortable ambience around the place. Good parking facilities onsite and a wonderful garden with seating out the back. I would definitely return.

Great location and nice grand hotel. We stayed in an apartment which was basement level, so lacked a bit of natural light during the day. It was very spacious but could have been a bit cleaner (see pics). As it was basement music from the ground floor of the hotel was audible, as well as footsteps, which both started early (6am). We also found dead bugs (millipedes) in the bedroom.
Overall it was nice but I would recommend not staying in an apartment if you're able and instead go for a cottage, which we now know to be a lot nicer. Gardens are beautiful.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay here with wife visiting Canterbury. Room was a good size, comfortable bed, bathroom nicely modernised but shower could do with a bit more oomph. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, as was the service. It was a hot weekend so was able to relax in the lovely garden with a book and a drink, very quiet and peaceful.
A short walk (~5 mins) into the town centre where there's lots to see. Some good pubs and interesting shops as well as the cathedral. Would recommend to others and stay again.

More of a B&B rather than a hotel as there's no restaurant (or swimming pool as you might see mentioned on the internet) but large comfortable rooms with ensuite facilities, a bar, lounge, reception desk & parking, set in lovely gardens. Dog friendly too! Cold buffet breakfast in the dining room, hot food ordered the night before. Self catering apartments available also.

Fairly quiet, good location for what I required. Reasonable room, no cups or making facilities in room, no fridge, kettle, glasses. Good cooked breakfast, and other options for breakfast. Have to locate your own evening meal, but not a big walk in Canterbury. Easier to walk than drive I'd suggest. Some friendly staff. Nice entrance and appearance from the road side, with reasonable parking, can get busy, but usually get a space and it's free to park.

Beautiful hotel, stunning grounds and lovely staff. The cooked breakfast was amazing hats off to the chef. The room was clean, spacious and although looks a little dated, I didn't find this to be an issue. The bed was extremely comfortable and both nights I had great sleep. Town is only a 10 minute walk away so its in a fantastic location. Being a Victorian style building the floor boards were creaky and the water pressure to the top floor was not great for the shower. However, I would still highly recommend this hotel and you will not be disappointed and certainly will be booking this again.

Booked this pet friendly hotel for a last minute holiday to Dover/Canterbury for New Year and was not disappointed. 20 minute drive to the white cliffs & a 10 minute walk to the town centre. A very lovely hotel with a gorgeous garden, clean rooms, a small bar, and delicious breakfast. Lovely free parking as well. Definitely recommend!

A very nice Victorian style hotel. The rooms are furnished with attention to detail. Large bathroom and quiet area. A large garden to enjoy the peace and quiet and free parking. Just a few steps to the city center. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is plentiful. I highly recommend the hotel.
