Excellent hotel with great amenities and within walking distance of city centre. Also only ten minute walk from Jericho neighbourhood. The staff are friendly, the hotel and room super clean and well maintained. I had a single room with a balcony overlooking the central courtyard. What more could you ask?

Stayed here 3 times before. Last 2 times disappointed. After driving for 4 hours to get there, there was no parking available, despite us having given advance notification. Some cars were parked in two spaces (some local event was on, I was told). Took pictures and showed the bad parking; if the badly parked cars just moved a bit, there would have been enough room, but the staff shrugged their shoulders and basically couldn't care less. Ended up parking on the street and having to pay.
Because of that we chose to eat and have a drink out rather than in the hotel (they didn't deserve our money). Last time we stayed we were woken up by drunken guests shouting loudly at 2.30 in the morning, and then there was a noisy van delivery about 5.00am. Will go elsewhere next time (due in Oxford in 2 weeks, but do jot plan to stay here). Very disappointed, as it was good previously, but has "lost the plot" now. There are plenty of other places with good parking in Oxford.

What I love about Cotswold Lodge is the super-friendly staff and the really great Banbury Rd location. The room had a lovely, comfortable bed and the breakfast was perfect. Nothing is too much troubles for the staff here, from the bar staff to check-in team. My only small gripe is the 4pm check in, it's probably Covid related but seemed a lot later than when I stayed here in 2019.
As a result, I was stood in reception behind quite a number of checking - in people (including a mini bus party) and didn't hit my room until 4.50pm, by which time trying to get a taxi to arrive within 45 mins through Oxford rush hour traffic was like trying to crack the Enigma code blindfold. So just a small hiccup then on what was a very pleasant stay at what remains a very pleasant hotel.

All of the staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly. It was great to be able to park on-site for free. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious and waiting staff very attentive. Only reason it's not a five-star review is that in the evening I could the guest in the room above me talking on the phone quite clearly and also I could hear their footsteps quite loudly in the night. Not ideal, but easily solved with ear plugs or turning the TV up!

Great staff, great location (15 minute walk from everything you want to see in Oxford), and a great car park which is tough to find! Staff was extra friendly and went out of their way to ensure comfort and kindness. Breakfast is worth it as you get a full English Breakfast + small buffet for 10 per person. I would also recommend having a warm afternoon tea with your friends and family in their cozy lounge. Be forewarned that there is no AC in rooms, although they do provide fans for the room and the windows do open.

The only two good things about this hotel are the location and the car park. We were down in Cheltenham during the Easter weekend this year and thought of spending a day in Oxford, with an overnight stay. The staff seemed quite aloof with not a lot of interest in marking up local attractions on a map. They were more keen on trying to make us have dinner at their restaurant.
The room itself was located in the courtyard and we felt there was a distinct lack of privacy. The room layout was extremely cramped and didn't feel very luxurious. What made life even more miserable was the snoring from the adjacent room, which suggested that the hotel owners were apathetic about the comfort of their guests and couldn't be bothered to acoustically insulate the rooms properly. I don't think I'd stay here again.
