The main difference for us long term, is that we are using the Fig restaurant space offering the same menu as the Bistro (with delightful specials) and this space will double up as a cocktail lounge, private dining room and Afternoon Tea destination.
Nestled in the heart of Chipping Campden, the award winning Cotswold House Hotel & Spa is a charming, Grade II listed Regency town house, complete with a tranquil spa, relaxed bistro and the beautiful Fig Lounge, a versatile space available for morning coffee, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, or as a place to enjoy the Bistro menu.

This is what the Staff room looks like. The radiator pinched that wall. Water is pouring from the pipes onto the carpet. Mold on the carpet. The stench in the room was unbearable. It is impossible to breathe and sleep. The bed slides apart and collapses. Plaster and paint peel off the walls. Holes boarded up in the door. For such a "standard" not only should they not take money from employees, but this something should not be made available to employees for housing.

We had a lovely two-night break, staying in a very spacious Cottage Room. The grounds are beautiful and the location is perfect - the hotel is right in the heart of the idyllic Chipping Campden, but it's so peaceful you wouldn't know it. The spa is small but they manage numbers and we had a really relaxing time - just make sure you book your slot beforehand.
Most standout of all though was the service. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Whilst the price reflects the quality (it's not cheap), we would still thoroughly recommend.

We came here for a 3 day winter break and had such a beautiful experience. The cottage room is a featured room and very spacious with its own utility room with tea/ coffee iron board, hair dryer. The food is very good but what stood out the most is the friendly and ever helpful staff. Nothing is too much for them. They have gone the extra mile to make our stay a very happy and memorable one. Highly recommended.

Came here for a Saturday night out to celebrate a friends birthday. They gave them a card in the room and some complimentary chocolates for the meal table. The food in Fig and the Bistro restaurants is excellent. Great service. Lovely ambience and feel to a lovely old building. Highly recommended. We will come back. Great value too. Loved it.

Really awful afternoon tea. Too many sweet items offered. Only one sandwich (egg). The pepper wrap was disgusting, and the salmon/ham sandwiches were literally one bite in size. Lemon posset type sweet was sickly, brownie was dense and too hard. The red velvet cake was wet as if it had been left in the fridge, and I really didn't like that. We asked for more scones because we hardly had eaten much are were charged more for them.
The service was non existent, nobody came to check how we were doing and I had to actively seek someone out to pay the bill (found the staff chatting at the bar). When I complained I received a very insincere response from the lady, clearly giving me a face. 53 for two people. Completely unreasonable and disappointing. From someone who has eaten at many afternoon tea places: don't bother wasting your money here.

Upon arrival the reception staff at the Hotel, were not friendly. Two of them looked at myself and my partner and almost ran into the back office. The lady at the desk clearly couldn't go anywhere, as she was sitting down. The staff in were we had Afternoon Tea, were friendly and pleasant. The tea box was brought over and we had an explanation of the teas to choose from.
We were asked if we had any dietary requirements or anything we do not like for the cakes. The sandwich and cake selection were a good choice. It's quite filling eating all those cakes, so pleased we were given a pot of tea, for several cups. Oh! Forgot we have freshly made warm mince pies, I don't like mince pies, but I have to say they were very nice especially the pastry!

Comfortable if quirky rooms, excellent restaurant though menu largely static, the icing on the cake is the swimming pool and spa. Hotel guests have free use of the pool and steam room, but have to book to limit numbers during covid restrictions. Hotel has central position in one of the most picturesque Cotswold villages with range of alternative eateries and shops.

Beautiful hotel for afternoon tea! Arrived to the dining room all to ourselves. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Afternoon tea was delicious plus a great variety of loose leaf tea. The dining room had a lounge seating area overlooking the garden which was a great place to relax after a feeling very full.

Had a lovely 2-night break at this gorgeous hotel, I wish we could have stayed longer. The staff are so welcoming, always smiling, and incredibly accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure we had plenty of milk too in our room, as we love our cups of tea after a long journey. The rooms are spacious, beautifully done and I had a wonderful night's sleep.
The bathroom is filled with The White Company bath products, fluffy towels, and a great lighted mirror. Very clean and had everything we needed in our room. As for the breakfast, it was delicious and again the restaurant staff are very professional and helpful. The hotel is situated in an ideal location and right near the local bus stop. There are lovely boutique shops too in the area and pubs. The hotel has a stunning garden with seating and loungers. Very relaxing and tranquil. I would definitely come again and highly recommend this place.

The staff were excellent and made us feel most welcome. I ended up leaving my Australian cap and when I phoned up later they were most helpful and insisted they post it back to me free of charge, even though I did offer to pay. Will my wife and I go again? You bet, but next time I will remember my cap.

Just had the best two days here for a family wedding. The staff worked so hard and we're happy to help out through out the long day. Breakfast was delicious and constantly stocked with freshly cooked items. The bar had some good ales at normal prices and a great verandah to have some open air refreshment.
