Combe grove, what a experience! First of all let me tell you the views were amazing and the food, wow! I could eat so many of their pizzas. Yum. There was a oopsie in the outside pool :/. Luckily I spotted early and managed to get the manager quickly to scoop it out. Wasnt clear if it was human. We were the told 9114 was the password to the gate but it turned out the actaul password was 3777. Anyways had a really good trip, might come again might not, it was on the pricey end I will say that!. If you have a female women who to bring on date then this could be good? Just dont take her to the pool.

This is a lovely hotel and we had a gorgeous room in the main house overlooking the valley below. We stayed for four nights on a fully inclusive rate. The bed was comfortable and the food exceptional. Also, really incredible WiFi. Due to Covid, there was no daily room cleaning, and that was fine. But there is something missing. The bar isn't quite right and is really set up for coffee in the day rather than an inviting space to spend the evening when resident.
The hotel also relies heavily on apprentices. Obviously, that's great, but not so great when effectively they aren't supported and all I really can see is the hotel trying to save money. Service was inconsistent with the staff not having the confidence or knowledge to deal with customer queries and complaints. It always took forever to get served and when food arrived it was dumped and the server would run away. There was no follow up or checking if we had everything we need, etc. I really wanted to love this hotel, but they need to sort out these issues.

The hotel is wonderful. the rooms are clean and well-sanitized, very comfortable. The view is incredible . Both the indoor and outdoor pools are great, warm and well-maintained. I tried two massage treatments at their spa and it was quite pleasant too. The only thing I didn't like was the food. Both breakfast and dinner menus offered limited choices, and the portions were small.

Very relaxing. Laid back service-polite but no room cleaning which was a bit of a corona excuse-but it suited us. We were left entirely to our own devices. Very luxurious wool carpet in our garden terrace room, wet room and private sun terrace all added a bit of luxury. Set high on a hill with panoramic views across the Midford valley yet a short walk into central Bath, I think the hotel setting would be hard to better.
Add to that an outdoor and indoor pool with sensible corona booking system, a sweeping regency terrace scattered with sun loungers and tables and chairs, the sound of tea cups on saucers for afternoon tea or the odd popping of a champagne cork, I felt that I had gone back in time, in a completely transporting way.

Disappointing afternoon tea for five people (3 adults, a 4yr old and a 1yr old). We booked the table on the day, to our surprise they had availability on the last day of the eat out offer so we only paid 25 instead of 50. So we didn't have high, but realistic expectations. We arrived at the restaurant and wore masks as required in communal areas. Once seated we removed our masks.
Most staff worse clear face protection which seemed adequate. One member of staff who brought the food didn't wear a face mask and got closer (whilst taking to us) than we are allowed to with our own family members from another household. This made us feel a little uncomfortable (from a covid point of view), but we thought the rate in Bath is low so nothing to complain to them about.
We were asked what drinks we wanted, I asked for a drinks menu and was told only tea and coffee were included in the afternoon tea, which was fine but I was willing to pay for an appetiser or something. Thankfully they had decaf tea and after we reminded them that we had ordered three, not two teas we all enjoyed a cuppa whilst waiting for the food.
There were three fingers of (cold and slightly stale from being in the fridge) sandwiches per person. They were tasty but a little hard and definitely not enough. Especially for a baby who drops food (unavailable but we did our best to catch it and of course tidied it before we left) and one person who didn't eat ham (no mention of vegetarian or alternatives as food all prepared in advance).
Also chives sprinkled over the top so all sandwiches tasted like they had onion in them. The worst part was when we asked if we could have more sandwiches (which we would have been willing to pay for). Five minutes later we were told no, as they had prepared everything in advance and had other reservations, so they couldn't give us more. We were there for over an hour and very few people were seated, so I'm not sure this was true.
The scones were very soft and tasty, there was one with a few raisins and three plain. However there was no butter or cream/clotted cream! Which is awful for an afternoon tea, it removes any thought of a luxury and unexpected for a hotel restaurant! The rest of the cakes were nothing special, the carrot cake was moist, the chocolate cake basic and madeira cake (possible lemon?!) was tasty, but they were the same cakes we saw on the counter by the bar, just much much smaller pieces.
More like a sampling plate for a very basic /budget wedding meal. No one came to ask if everything was ok/how was our food/ did we need anything and we found it difficult to get the staff attention to pay the bill. I understand it must be difficult for the staff with the virus safety measures but we didn't feel welcome and weren't greated with a smile (behind the transparent face cover).
The grounds were nice, although the water fountain was lacking water and needed a clean, but maybe that's a sign they are struggling with 2020 like many other hotels. We aren't in a hurry to return, which is a shame as we are local.

This is undoubtedly a beautiful hotel in a great location within stunning countryside. Just a stone's throw from Bath but it exudes tranquility. The facilities are great with a gym, spa, tennis courts and indoor and outdoor pools. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable and, during this current pandemic, every effort is made to ensure they are clean and risk free. However, without air con rooms have a tendency to be hot and airless.
But this potentially amazing hotel just suffers from inconsistencies. One meal was good, the next awful, we heard staff being rude about guests and the afternoon tea was certainly not as advertised. It feels as if something is missing and I hope they find whatever it is.

Nice enough and definitely good value, rooms pool etc all good, breakfast excellent. Just a bit rough around the edges in places but I get the impression it's improving all the time. The no smoking policy is a bit extreme. Only 1 place to smoke outside which is a 5 minute walk to the perimeter. One should surely be allowed to smoke provided you're far enough away from non-smokers. And there's plenty of space for that. Beautiful setting.

Very lovely old manor hotel, although there is something missing. The atmosphere was not warm enough. Need to make it a bit lively put the fireplace in or maybe couple of candles around. We've stayed 2 nights when we visit dinning area was untidy with the glasses and dirty plates around. Except those things view from the garden is fantastic. Rooms area spacious and clean. Also all staff was kind and helpful.

Stayed here for over the weekend and it was lovely. All the staff were so friendly, kind and helpful and made you feel really welcome. The room was really nice and clean and there was a gorgeous view from the. balcony. Breakfast was yummy and a good range of drinks at the bar. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous and I even went out and brought one of the wooden deer they had as part of their display! Would definitely stay again

We arrived at 6pm on a recent Sunday tired and hungry to be informed that there was no meal or indeed any food service after 6 on a Sunday. The bar had run out of crisps and nuts. Our room was pleasant enough although the single beds small. Bathroom was great. The window to the terrace was dirty. The following morning Breakfast was 20 minutes late setting up (we were very hungry). This is not an inexpensive hotel and I found the service lacklustre and complacent.

Staff were so friendly and attentive and really made us feel so welcome! Facilities here were great too, we went to a relaxing mindfulness class and the leisure building was amazing. Our room had the perfect view and the dinner was incredible. Cannot fault anything about this place. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Lovely hotel! Perfect setting for a romantic getaway, away from it all, as is in a lovely peaceful setting. We stayed in a garden balcony room, which was lovely and spacious with beautiful rooms over the. valley. The staff were all friendly and polite and gave us a little tour of the facilities when we checked in. Breakfast was delicious and the waiting staff were very attentive. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The management are a disgrace, the whole place is a shambles. Personally was a therapist there and was bullied the majority of my time there. Left with no follow up response. Also no acknowledgment from an email to the 'manager'. The whole place is corrupt. Trust a minimal of people there, and only 2 therapists who actually know what there doing. Defiantly do your research before heading there as a guest. Or joining the 'team'. Its only taken me a year to write this due to the damage this place has done to me

Nice big room with (huge) comfy bed and lots of soft towels. Good breakfast. We had to wait quite a long time for dinner and while one of the waitresses was very apologetic for the delay, another was rather abrasive and abrupt. It would be nice if you had a bit more choice of menu or could have a larger starter as a main course. The Indoor pool was lovely and warm.
A shame the connecting door from pool to accommodation is locked and you have to trek outside to access it. Decor in main hotel beautiful but I think signage could be better and there was a skip outside in full view which detracts from the overall splendour of the hotel. Nice setting outside Bath, but you really need a car to get around

Very pleased with our 2 night stay here. Set in the countryside, and if you like walking then a very pleasant long walk into Bath city centre. The room we stayed in which was balcony with views was clean and very pleasant. Breakfast was very good as well with all the normal breakfast items you would expect. Will definitely go back.

Had a lovely weekend break with my hubby here. We needed a little breather from everyday life and the hotel was perfect for that. We also combined it with my birthday so it was extra special. Lovely hotel and. bedroom, very well equipped, comfortable and nicely decorated. The food in the hotel was perfection! Even down to the butter and juice served at breakfast.
The grounds are beautiful and if anything let it down, it would be the "leisure suite". If you can call it that. Cold swimming pool, hydro pool with bar style beds made of metal frames - not luxury at all. The girl on the front desk of the leisure suit didn't even welcome us, we had to ask for a pen to sign in and she said "ummm I.

A beautiful manor house perched on a hilltop just outside of Bath, with incredible views. Service is excellent and the food at dinner in the orangery was very good. There is a real focus on wellness and it is nice to see so many people also keeping active during their stay. Dogs are welcome here too.

We had such a great stay at the hotel. We had stumbled upon it online, and were very pleasantly surprised. We had booked directly with them, and when we arrived, we had discovered they had upgraded us to a valley view room, that was very beautiful, along with the some of the best chocolates in our room. The grounds of the hotel were absolutely stunning. Definitely visiting again soon.

Had a great stay here, My room was excellent, nicely furnished with perfect lighting for relaxing in. The views are wonderful too. Swim in the outdoor pool (heated) which was fun. The food was 1st rate, also the wine list has 2 red English wines on it, tried a glass of each, both very good. Staff are very friendly.
