Spotlessly clean! Great-sized family room (1x double, 1x single, 1x bunk and then an optional small sofa bed), fridge, SILENT aircon and a lovely shower-room. We were on the lower ground at the front, and it was really quiet. Really friendly and helpful reception. Great base for a few family days in London, only 4 mins walk to Lancaster Gate (central line).

Loved the restaurant at this hotel. The food was very different to other places, still Greek inspired but with different options I hadn't seen before. The pasta was really good and also the brownie. Plus I would recommend the grapefruit negroni cocktail, so refreshing. The staff are really friendly and attentive, very smiley welcoming people.

This was our first trip to London, I was a little anxious when booking. But Rhodes hotel turned out to be a wonderful surprise! Excellent area! Vivian, at the reception, was really charming as well as professional. The room was a little bit small for the 4 adults we were, but we just needed a place to shower and sleep! The room was really clean, the bathroom was perfect and beds were super comfortable! We will definitely come back to London, and to Rhodes hotel!

We have booked via phone small double room for one night only (5/April '22) in Rhodes Hotel as my boyfriend had been accommodated in their Central London Budget Hotel some years ago and he was really satisfied. Unfortunately, the room that we booked in double price from this in Central London Budget disappointed us. *Central London Budget hotel has been closed.
First of all, we do not get informed that our room will be in the basement on their second building (16 Sussex Place) until our check in. Also, we got informed about 50 damage deposit (via email), only when we proceed with the payment of our booking. Secondly, there is no elevator and this makes accommodation of people in wheeling chair or those with buggies impossible. Thirdly, rooms are not sound proof and you could hear others speaking in their room. Fourthly, cold air was coming through door (with mirror) which leads outside.
Except all above negatives, hotel is in great location (close to Lancaster Gate station, Paddington Station and Hyde park) Moreover, hotel is out of the Congestion Zone and in case you use car, you will not be charged for it. Furthermore, luggages can be stored even after checking out without extra charge. We will not choose to be accommodated there again!

Vivian (Vivienne?) At the front desk is a gem! Helpful, knowledgeable and thorough! If every hotel had staff like her, there would many fewer complaints! The rooms are a bit small but this is London, and I'm not here to spend time in my room! I figure for what I'm paying, I can deal with the smallish room. The rooms are clean- which is a huge plus! Soundproofing could be improved.
I think I heard everything the family next door said this morning! The location couldn't be better! Just 2 short blocks to Paddington Station (and the Heathrow Express!) And central to many bus and Tube lines. not to mention cabs and scooters and bikes. plus Hyde Park is a stone's throw away! There are plenty of places to eat in the neighborhood and there are takeaway places also.

Awful! not at all what was advertised, literally just like a bedsit, weird layout and everything just felt off! We had to be taken round the corner to our room which is in another building? We checked out ten minutes after checking in, when handing back the keys we were told "well you did book a small double"- I'm aware of that, I didn't pay to feel unsafe in literally the worlds most awful room

Perfectly good place for a short stop over, lady at the front desk is incredibly warm and welcoming, room was clean, everything worked and they let me leave my luggage there all day on check out day. Rooms are small but come on it's 100 to stay in central London right next to Paddington station so it isn't going to be the Ritz and it isn't trying to be!
If you need to just stop over for a night or two and need a central base, you can't go wrong with Rhodes Hotel. It isn't disabled accessible due to only having stairs but it's a listed building so they can't change that. The lady at the desk helped me take my luggage up the stairs as well.

Absolutely best experience I could ever have hoped for our first trip to London. The entrance outside is beautiful, the lady at reception was very kind and helpful with knowledge of the area. She even helped us to get a discount with our booking! The room was so much better than the photos online. I would suggest to possibly update all the photos online because when we entered our room it looked so much better! We will be stopping here again for sure, thank you for such an excellent experience! From Craig & Glen in Birmingham :

Extremely good value for central London right next to a major train station/ subway hub. The innkeeper was very hospitable and chatty. Rooms are very small but comfy and extremely clean, you really can't beat it for ~40 pounds per night! Only thing they can improve on is the wifi for the Annex building, it seemed like my room may have been out of range or something as it was very spotty between 10pm to midnight every night. However in the main building lobby the wifi was blazing fast.

Wonderful Hotel HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We spent a week here with 3 kids and stayed in the family room. Staff are absolutely lovely, always on hand to help and provide any info or just have a friendly chit chat. Vivienne especially has made our stay very comfortable. Many nights we returned after 9pm and never had any problems. lovely safe area! We booked last minute and they managed to arrange a room for us.
It honestly felt like home away from home! We were also provided with contact numbers if need be for when we were out and required any help or a taxi Great location, great hotel, great rooms and great staff! Can't fault anything. Thanks for a lovely week, we have truely enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon x

We stayed here for 4 nights. We had no complaints and enjoyed our stay. Our airline had lost our luggage and the staff went out of their way to help us with that. They serve an English breakfast every morning that is tasty plus extras. The room is small but thats what you will get in London. We loved opening our window every night and listening to the night life. Just be prepared that some rooms are up many flights of steps. Ask for a lower level when you book if that matters. We will be staying at the rhodes again in the future

I love, love, love this place. There are so many hotels in London, and so many that are SO expensive. This place is reasonably priced, in a great location, super quiet, good beds, and has a great shower. The rooms are small, yes, but um. if you're from the States get used to it. If you're from UK or Europe, you should be used to it - and would definitely find this place a gem.
The price is so great (you can use their website to book), and the staff is mostly friendly (there's one guy there that I don't care for, but he's not really mean per se). The checkout is a snap, and they will hold on to your bags if you get there prior to check-in. I'm a big, big fan.

Rather unfortunately and due to some extra-ordinary circumstances, we had to crash here. The pros are - basically - that the room are basic and OK, it's rather cheap and the location is great. Close to Paddington, Hyde Park and good cheap eating on Edgware Rd. The cons are smelly - really really smelly - hallways and rooms. Everything is rather dirty and worn down, and the rooms are tiny tiny. Anyway, it covered the basic need for shelter, however, I don't believe I'll stay here voluntarily again.
