Beautiful building with loads of character and history, filled with some beautiful antique pieces and very friendly staff. Attended for a birthday afternoon tea which was good if not exceptional. They did bring my partner a birthday dish wishing her a happy 87th which as she had just turned 56 provided much amusement to the rest of the group

I came on Saturday for afternoon tea, with my friend who bought this treat for my birthday. Little disappointed the table was sticky the plates were stuck to the table, would have been nicer with white table cloths. The jam, cream and milk were already on the table when we arrived? How long had that been out? It should have come with the scones. The food was lovely cannot fault that. Also would have been nicer if the staff were wearing uniform. Not skinny black jeans!

The Castle is absolutely beautiful and centrally located. My room was lovely. I had breakfast and dinner from the restaurant and I was happy with the food and the service. The front desk folks really looked after me. I loved everything about this hotel. Bonus: the Museum of Somerset is right beside it. I hope to be back someday!

Don't judge a book by its cover - or hotel! Great hotel and staff but let down by 2 bad nights sleep. I was in room 110. A small double that had everything I needed. However the walls were paper thin so I could hear everything from 109 and 111. Slept 4 hours both nights. However that's not stopping me staying there again its the young lads on noisy bikes outside in the square hour after hour on both nights. The night porter rings the police every night but they take no action. If the police pull their finger out I might go back. AVOID.

Stayed for one night. Location is excellent for Taunton centre. Found all the staff friendly. Room was a bit dated but all clean, comfy bed and free view and free WiFi (although tsunton has very fast 5g), had a bottle of decent wine in the bar. My only grip was breakfast, 1 sausage left, 1 hash brown, no beans and dry black pudding. Would have been better at the pub opposite. Would stay again but avoid breakfast!

Great service at this beautiful hotel located in the heart of Taunton. I used this location for a business meeting & lunch, and it was perfect. From the very helpful front of house team to the waiting staff in the comfortable lounge area, everyone had a smile on their face, and were keen to assist. Lunch in the Brazz was good too with calm, professional service and good quality food.
