Award winning authentic Highland Inn, great food, great beer and really comfortable rooms. Earlier this month Jess at @RSPBLochGarten gave us a wee sneak peak at the incredible new osprey platform. A high risk of freezing rain for a while for parts of the Highlands and inland areas of Moray and Aberdeenshire this morning. It is unsustainable for government to discourage people from supporting firms without offering businesses financial help. With a multitude of awards, it's the best choice for those wishing to make the best of their time in the highlands.

Came to the village on our motorhome to stop at the brilliant FREE car park 2 minutes up the road. Took a walk with our dogs down to have a beer and see what and where was available to eat that was also dog friendly. Saw this place first but checked out the kebab restaurant and also the hotel at the bottom of the village. Came back here as the menu painted great pictures and there was a friendly buzz about the staff and the clientele. Had the gin of the day and a demarera rum and coke.
We shared the starter of BBQ chicken on ciabatta. Delicious. My Wife had the chicken fillet burger. Commented on how tasty and tender it was. I had the pork belly. Amazing with proper crunchy crackling on the top! Had a few more.drinks and played some pool. The staff were mega friendly and even gave our dogs some treats! Lovely village. Lovely camper stop. Lovely hotel. Brilliant staff.

Fair value for money. Perfectly situated in Carrbridge. 500m walk from Landmark Adventure Park. Clean room and bathroom. Nice breakfast. Slight negatives: in the family room, the windows were difficult to open and close; same with the bathroom door. Also, staff were lovely and doing their best but you can see they are stretched to their limits.

I stayed here back in February during some good snow and found it to be lovely, cosy and with a friendly vibe. A great place to grab some food or a beer at the end of a heavy day on the mountains before toddling off to your room. Rooms were provided with plenty of blankets and extra heating which was very much appreciated and the water was piping hot in the shower. Perfect!
The only suggestion I have is maybe a vegan sausage or hash brown to go with the breakfast for us non meat-eaters but that's splitting hairs really. I had a really lovely stay and was sad to leave!

Popped in for a birthday dinner and the restaurant did not disappoint. We all had fish and chips. The chips were beautifully crispy and not oily. The batter on the fish was delicious and the fish was fresh and flaky. We all are until we were uncomfortable because we didn't want to waste a single mouthful. The service was also friendly and welcoming. An evening well spent

Picked this because we were staying local. Called ahead and they were happy for a table of 2 to just turn up. Nicely greeted and sat, with drinks served at the table. Good selection of beers and ales. There was a shortened menu for Sunday as they were serving Sunday lunch. There was a bit of a wait after ordering, but this is a good thing because I felt they were actually cooking the food, rather than warming up preprepared.
I had the venison (quite expensive) which was really well cooked, slightly pink, vegetables really well cooked. The mash could have been better, slightly watery, possible overcooked and allowed to steam off before mashing, also needed butter. Partner had the roast of the day (good value) which today was gammon, really nice size and well cooked, again nice veg and yorkie. Obviously used by locals too. Easy to recommend if you are in the area.

Great pub for a drink & some food, doing simple things well. Open fire a huge plus on a cold night. Have to say it was a particularly welcome discovery after several nights struggling to get a table in Aviemore where even in October they don't seem to have the capacity to cope with the number of visitors
