The White Lion Hotel

It's just a short drive to The Three Counties Showground. A really nice oldy worldy pub, with probably the best breakfast and evening meals we've ever had! Our room decor was a little tired, but it was clean and had everything we needed. Having the car park was brilliant - they let me squeeze my extra large van in there every night! We would definitely love to stay again :-

While home in Upton for a visit from Australia & staying with my parents we were invited for Lunch on Saturday 09/04/22 to attend the White Lion Hotel by my parents neighbour & her family to celebrate my mum's birthday & my parents recent Blue Sapphire 65th Wedding anniversary. The meal service was excellent mostly served by Richard, great menu choice & the meals were well cooked & large portion size meals, soft & alcoholic drinks in-between, & a few of us decided on choosing a delicious dessert.

A relaxed friendly atmosphere & made very welcome by staff. Highly recommend a visit to dine, not able to comment about the accommodation considering neither of us needed to stay here living locally.

Good food. Warm atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff, even under the pressure of being short staffed and tending to bar and customer food orders too.

The White Lion is just perfect! The quaint but traditional White Lion has great character, and is situated in the heart of the town. I found the food to be of a high standard and presentation, and made with a lot of thought and care, for a very good price. But most of all the service is second to none and this helps the White Lion shine above everything else. I would highly recommend? Make the White Lion your destination when heading to Upton and Malvern.

Our Christmas Dinner was delicious. The atmosphere is lovely too. A very cosy and warm place to share a drink and food on a cold Christmas day.

We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary here. Has a brilliant weekend - stayed in the courtyard. Very old hotel - decor does reflect it but it's well worth a visit. Staff go the extra mile to help and can't do enough for you. Breakfast was amazing and the meal we had in the restaurant was top notch. Highly recommend you give it a go - worth every penny.

Fantastic place to stay with a group of friends. The Hotel team worked really hard to look after us and the food was superb.

We stayed here for 2 nights Good for dogs. Room was on top floor twin. Honest bit tired decor. But character with beams. Great size TV, and really comfy beds. Noisy toilet when flushing. Nice outdoor area, nice dogs allowed in this area as well as lounge bar area. area, we had lovey evening meal good bar as well.beer etc Breakfast was OK. Service was OK as well. Scrambled eggs and salmon. Was OK. The full brek was really good. Car parking small but good for hotel. All In all great hotel. Would stay again.

The Single Bed in room 204 was like sleeping on Cobbled Street. Something digging in my back or side I'm the centre all night. Not that I could sleep in Any case as every hour even though the bathroom light was off and no one using the toilet the Macerator in the toilet roared. So no sleep. Positives, lady at check In and bar was very welcoming and pleasant.

Breakfast was good. Nice to have seating areas with sofas outside in other areas in hotel. But of you can't sleep all the positives are sadly hard to enjoy when you has no sleep

A lovely stay in the White Lion, Upton on Severn. We stayed in one on the courtyard rooms, specious and comfortable. A great evening meal and generous breakfast. Staff are wonderful, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is over 500 years old, quirky and interesting.

Loved the old world charm. Pity we could not dine in as guests since the restaurant was for reservations only. The amazing breakfast more than made up for the disappointment. We will definitely visit here again.
