Stapleford Park Country House

We visited on Thursday 2nd June, for the Platinum Jubilee afternoon tea. Having previously been for afternoon tea many times before we were really looking forward to a special jubilee tea. Unfortunately we were left deflated and frustrated after our experience. Pros - Beautiful gardens. Food tasty. Arrival pimms was lovely. Cons - No tables. Plastic plates.

No napkins provided unless you went to the bar and got one, considering the jam from the scones was so thin it had leaked out onto every scone, top and bottom, this wasn't ideal. Tea and coffee was serve yourself and in a takeaway cup. One sandwich per person. Slow service. Scone already halved and cream and jam had already been applied. Staff oblivious to where their vegetarian and allergy customers were.

The 'band' started late, played a few songs then disappeared for a long time. Came back and played another few songs before again disappearing. We could hear other customers complaining about the service, food and band. Overall we didn't expect such lack of finesse from stapleford, especially at 40pp. We were left thoroughly disappointed and left early.

If you want to pamper yourself in beautiful countryside look no further. Beautiful decor and grounds. Great service. Peaceful, relaxed and calm.

Went here for afternoon tea on my mother's 92nd birthday. The staff (Meena in particular) were very attentive. Full selection of sandwiches for vegetarians which were excellent. Lovely scones and sweet treats. Thanks to all for a wonderful afternoon.

My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary with a stay here, and it couldn't have been more perfect! The grounds are beautiful, the house itself is absolutely stunning. We took full advantage of the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi too! We had the Zoffany state room, which was pretty lavish. The staff were brilliant - friendly and ever ready to help, but not intrusive. We really can't wait to go back!

Grace and the team made all our wedding dreams come true at Stapleford Park - a truly magnificent place to get married! Wish we could do it all again! The Stapleford Park team made our day first-class due to the teams' dedication to great food and amazing hospitality.

Beautiful place in a stunning location. The staff & facilities are wonderful. Food is exceptional quality. They really made me feel at home here.

Gorgeous hotel, the staff are superb, the food was excellent quality, the room was really comfortable and quiet. I would definitely visit again! Only slight improvement would be to warm the pool a bit more, it felt about 27 degrees, a brisk front crawl was required!

The best spa day I've been on, the grounds are beautiful. The full body massage was amazing! The pool is in a different part of the hotel but it gave us a chance to explore which was great. Enjoyed the afternoon tea but next time I think I'd opt for the lunch and desert!

Had a lovely relaxing stay. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The grounds & views were beautiful. Food was very good. The Manor House is stunning! Will definitely be having another stay here.

We enjoyed afternoon tea at Stapleford. Just wanted to mention that Raj really made our experience amazing. His customer service skills were impeccable and he had an extensive knowledge of Stapleford as a venue. A real asset to Stapleford and please pass on our compliments.

Our stay with our family over Christmas was all that we could have hoped for. The service provided by the staff was exceptional from the immediate help with luggage and Christmas presents on our arrival to help with our departure. The assistance with our cumbersome party of ten in the bar and lounges was most understanding, right down to looking after no. 11 Badger the dog!

All the family were delighted with the rooms and the food and the dining provided. The fact that you were coping with Covid and staff shortages never impacted the service we received and your staff are to be congratulated indeed for this, Thank you also for making Alison's birthday such a special event - she enjoyed every minute of it after waiting for 80 years! We booked a private dining table for Sunday lunch for our colleague's 60th birthday. What a disgrace the meal was - cold and undercooked and all for an absolutely eye-watering price. The post-meal coffee was accompanied with milk that was off and which curdled when poured into the cup. An utter disappointment. Save your money and go to somewhere half the price - even a Toby Carvery would have been better

Afternoon tea today, was sadly disappointing. When I asked the waitress if I could swap a fruit scone for a plain one, a long conversation ensued why they couldn't! It's a tiny scone for "Pete" sake! Keep it real. By the way. compliments to Stuart Beeson (writer of another review further below). His account and reporting of Stapleford Park was sublime and cleverly written, and extraordinarily accurate. It was so well written I could of happily read more. His writing skills are superb. professional journalism. Well done Stuart. you are simply brilliant.

Myself and my partner stayed here for a family wedding last weekend. The staff were absolutely delightful and we were so happy with the service they provided. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and I could not thank them enough for making our stay a delight! We will definitely be returning for another weekend soon to enjoy the spa and the gorgeous grounds! Thank you everyone for making our weekend fabulous!

Lovely attentive staff. Great afternoon tea. Difficult initially to book as phones never answered and messages left not returned. Email worked though and Emma sorted it all out and threw in a complimentary glass of champers which was delicious.

Booked a 1 night stay and added on some spa treatments to celebrate 50th birthdays with friends. From the minute we arrived until we left we were looked after by the staff. Food was excellent, 2hr spa treatment amazing and pool facilities were lovely. The grounds are perfectly maintained. Loved the golf buggy ride to and from the spa and couldn't fault anything Already planning the next visit

A beautiful hotel. As a previous visitor commented, London prices and London portions. The food is 1st class but not enough. We could not faulty any of the staff. All are excellent. This is our first visit but we will return. Unfortunately the golf course has closed.

Had a lovely stay. The hotel and the ground are stunning. Accommodation let it down slightly, bathroom in our room was in need of an update. Other than that lovely staff and very relaxing

Recently had 4 nights at Stapleford Park which was just heavenly! The staff were very courteous and attentive, the facilities are good (gym is great, swimming pool etc is lovely, tennis courts are fine but out of action. bit unnecessary to be blocked off) and really nice walks around the grounds. Food was very good - portions maybe small - but all very tasty. It's a tough time for the hospitality sector, so any complaints in prior reviews re. staffing are unjust
