Ben Lawers (Gaelic: Beinn Labhair) is one of the highest mountains in the southern part of the Scottish Highlands. It lies to the north side of Loch Tay, and is the highest point of a long ridge that includes seven Munros. Warning - Although a relatively simple though strenuous walk in good weather, this becomesdifficult and hazardous in winter conditions with icy surfaces and severe drifting in gale force winds. Time for trip may be doubled! Ben Lawers is not really in the Trossachs but it's a great climb and you get a head start from the carpark at 1400 ft.

Spent 3 lovely nights here last week - one in the hotel and 2 camping in adjacent field. The hotel room was very comfortable, clean with en suite shower and WC and generous tea and coffee making provision. Hearty breakfast set us up perfectly for our days up in the hills. Dinner was delicious, simple home cooked food with a wide range of vegetarian options.

Bar had a good selection of draught, bottled and canned ales and also offered a good range of alcohol free drinks The camping field has a beautiful setting with stunning views over Loch Tay. It is essentially for wild camping but there is a very clean portaloo is on site. We found the hosts to be very welcoming and helpful, and we would definitely recommend and consider visiting again.

Stopped off here after a long day in the mountains and what a good call that was. Cracking pint of Guinness and fantastic fish and chips. 2 fish per portion and beautifully cooked; moist fish and crispy batter. The host was really on the ball and efficient service was proffered throughout. I'll make an effort to call when I'm in the area again.

Tried to stop here for lunch with a group of friends. Despite lots of signs promoting the bar, beer garden and the food on offer, the place was closed. A man emerged when he saw us trying to work out how to get into the place and shouted, "We're closed!" and then added that they don't open during the day. Even a notice saying something like, we would love to welcome you in the evening - sorry we aren't open currently for lunches, would have improved our experience.

When in to see if they were open. Sign said they opened at 4.30 on Sundays. Other sign in said close, I assumed they hadn't flipped it over it being 4.45. I went in and got berate by rute staff say they weren't open. Won't be giving them my buisness.

No refreshments available on a Sunday afternoon in prime hill walking season. No access to restrooms. One rank portaloo provided by local authority on edge of car park. Not a good example of Scottish hospitality sector. Maybe staff shortages due to Brexit? All day parking for walkers 5 ( into honesty box) which is fair enough.

Absolutely loved my time here. After spending a day in the hills completing 4 of the munros in the range, I was dying for a shandy and some food. They let us in even though they had just stopped serving food, made us the best vegan pizza I've ever had and made us and our dog feel super welcome. Thank you so much.

Turned away without a sorry, as they were full. Understand that everyone is busy, combined with the current situation but very poor customer service. Staying in the area for 7 days, we will look for other places to eat and spend our money.

Stayed here for one night with my wife and our dog. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival we sat with a coffee and took in the amazing views around the hotel. Later that evening we had dinner which was absolutely delicious and to my surprise it was all home made. We sat on the decking with a couple of drinks and took in the scenery. Rooms were very well kept and clean bathroom was filled with little shower gels and shampoos which was great as we forgot to pack them.

We had breakfast in the morning which was a full scottish breakfast which yet again was delicious. I will 100% be coming back to stay here the atmosphere was brilliant. I'm a motorbiker and usually just drive past this place. Not now this will be my new local place to stop for a rest. This hotel also offers a takeaway menu and a place to camp. Fantastic idea.

It is a small oasis in a remote part of the beauty that is Ben Lawers. It is quaint, spotlessly clean, well run and the food is homemade by Dee, which is delicious. I unreservedly recommend it. Peter
