Stayed for 3 night whilst on a business trip. Historic old building with lots of character. Large but tight car parking. Friendly reception and staff. Rooms are well equipped and more than comfortable providing a good nights sleep. My shower was a little feeble with next to no pressure. Breakfast, bar and restaurant menus are good and the food and service is excellent. Located in the centre of Tavistock so hand if you want to venture out.

A classic old hotel with good access to Tavistock, and a guest car park with easy entrance to the building. Rooms are a bit tired (mainly around the windows), but the restaurant is excellent - had a brilliant curry and pudding, and there were a lot of breakfast options available too.

Visited for a murder mystery birthday meal and the doggy Christmas high tea. Both very good. Don't be deceived by the steps at the front door, there's wheelchair access via a lift from the entrance in the car park.

Charming hotel and restaurant in the heart of the world heritage town of Tavistock. We only had dinner in the restaurant but the food was excellently cooked and prepared, and the service was attentive and professional. I had the burger and my partner had the pheasant. Both were delightful! We did not have room for dessert!

What a wonderful place the Bedford Hotel is, the wife and had an afternoon tea here and was very well looked after, nothing was too much. Staff were really friendly and professional in there uniforms. There is a disabled access from the car park that is situated to the rear of the hotel, it is a lift that takes you to reception and onto the Upper levels. Toilets are exceptional, also a disable toilet.

There are different rooms where you can enjoy a coffee or tea or you can indulge in a glass of wine or something that tickles your fancy. Outside you can wonder into the walled garden where there are table and chairs to enjoy the garden.

Wedding (service & reception). Facilities were ideal, and the staff were excellent! 3 course meal was absolutely spot on, I'm still amazed that every plate was perfect.about 100 guests. Room was good, along with a very nice breakfast. ALL staff were polite, welcoming, professional & helpful with a smile! Will definitely go back, and recommend it for those planning large(ish) social functions as well as others visiting the Tavistock area.

Lovely food on a Sunday afternoon. We were given the private dining room which was nice but not warm. In the public area there was lovely open fire which was lit. Free parking was good.

We returned to the hotel to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and were put in the lovely honeymoon suite. The bed was very comfortable, although the room clearly hasn't been updated in the ten years since we got married here! They could do with adding a few more touches to spruce the place up a bit in my opinion, but we enjoyed our romantic night and the dinner and breakfast were both excellent. Service was friendly and we especially enjoyed a cream tea in the comfy lounge with lots of board games provided and a lovely atmosphere.

I liked it a lot. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Most people were masked The room was small, but comfortable with all the basic amenities. Very clean, well-maintained. The staircases, chandeliers and corridor artwork hint at lost grandeur. If be more than happy to stay there again if I get the chance.

Did a lovely Xmas wreath making afternoon with a cream tea. Catherine, who ran the course was excellent, friendly and so helpful. Our group had a thoroughly enjoyable time and left with a beautiful wreath to take home. Our afternoon tea was in a lovely spot in the hotel too. Thanks to Catherine and the other hotel staff who were all so helpful. Would love to return
