The Angel Hotel

I know the Angel quite well having briefly lived in the town. It is very well run & the staff consistently helpful & friendly. Having never stayed I can't comment on the room standards, but have enjoyed numerous meals, snacks and pints over the last nineteen years. The restaurant (Cleones) seems to run as a separate business within the pub/hotel and has always produced excellent Italian dishes as well as the usual pub grub. You can eat in main bar too, and there is outside seating. The Angel has its own free car park & there are two public car parks within a two minute walk. Hope this helps.

Only 4 stars to room only because dull to windows facing building next door but room itself very good will be using hotel again very soon great breakfast selection

Staff were very polite and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Food in the adjoining Italian restaurant was superb. Room was a bit jaded but fit for purpose and the shower gel was the best I've used in a hotel. Would recommend.

An exceptional meal. Service was really good and felt very personal even though quite busy. We particularly enjoyed the Tiramisu. Definitely home made and surprisingly light. Definitely recommend.

Had breakfast here this morning. Two poached eggs on toast with smoked salmon.was delicious, the eggs cooked perfectly. The full breakfast was yummy too Two girls serving us were lovely and polite.

Let me start by saying that I am not one to usually leave a review but having gone for dinner with my wife on the back of the many reviews we read online, we were left speechless. We ordered a prawn and tuna pizza. There was one tiny ex-frozen prawn, no visible tuna at all but a huge amount of plasticy tasting cheese. I can't even call the pizza average, it looked, tasted and was awful.

The single waitress service began well but it seemed because there was only one other occupied table, she continually disappeared behind a screen behind our table and didn't seem to realize that we could hear her every word discussing personal matters with a gentleman who later I introduced himself as the manager. A real shame. Ps. We were still charged the full amount which we paid.

Another wonderful four night stay for me at this family run hotel and restaurant. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable, the food is excellent and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own car park and is conveniently located just in the main street of this very old interesting town with many individual shops. Tremendous value for money with a very warm welcome. Thanks again to all the team and see you soon.

Lovely warm welcome- I'd had a long stressful day at work and was made to feel very welcome and at home. Dinner was prompt and delicious even though the restaurant and bar were unexpectedly busy for a Tues evening. Breakfast was a highlight- chef made me the most delicious, fluffy cheese omelette. Such a lovely experience- I will definitely return.

Very friendly staff and good location, with parking. Very nice food and dessert.

Clones rarely disappoints. Great pasta, pizza and a range of specials always delicious. Busy atmosphere.

500 year old Inn. Decor a little faded but more than compensated for by excellent bar food, an Italian Restaurant and helpful friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Halesworth.

A nice pub/restaurant, but rather on the expensive side for what you get. On several occasions also, there have been several rowdy, trouble making patrons who have spoiled the overall experience. But all in all, generally a nice, friendly, relaxing place to eat/drink.

Friendly staff and good service. Good food reasonably priced. Every Wednesday two pizza/pasta dishes and a free carafe of wine. Visited twice and will be moving into the area soon. May become a regular.

This place has not changed, it retains its charm. The staff are great. The restaurant is very good with excellent food. In particular would like to mention our waitress Katie what a natural she is-friendly, smiling and aware of what is going on around her! Well done Katie we were very impressed!

Came here on the last night of our holiday. And we weren't disappointed. Absolutely gorgeous food! And my two fussy boys cleared their plates. The staff are fantastic. They went out of their way to get us a booking. And the chef even made my youngest a cheesy pasta that wasn't on the menu! Will definitely visit here next time we holiday in Suffolk.

Well! what went wrong this time! Took over an hour to get fed, no explanation of why we had to wait so long until we asked told be told kitchen was 'rammed', wouldn't been so bad if staff had been a bit attentive but didn't seem to care, asked the chap on the bar for a drink but that was to much trouble although he could serve another table?! someone did eventually come and ask us. finally go our food which was god but nothing special. Think you need to sort your customer service out! especially when we did spend 100 with you.

The Angel is such q nice friendly place. Tonight we visited the Italian restaurant and ate tasty pizzas. The waitress, Katie, was excellent. Hard working and knew exactly what we wanted. I shall return.
