Well placed Hotel for visiting area, plenty of parking, good spacious rooms (a little too warm prehaps) basic breakfast offered, suited us fine for our needs. We've been staying at the Abbey Grange for years, It's like home from home but without the hassles. Just like the reviews say, yep it's dated inside but what a little gem it is.

It was the only hotel available as it was a last minute booking. The bed/bedding was nice and clean but the room was quite dusty in places and cleanliness in the bathroom was shocking! I told a member of staff what I had found in the bathroom and showed a photo. She was lovely, friendly and very apologetic but no one came to clean it.

A friendly greetings on arrival. A nice clean, spacious but basic room with a sofa. The bathroom fittings are dated, but again immaculately clean. Reasonably priced vegetarian curry with poppadoms and chutney that couldn't have been nicer. A good selection of local bottled beers, it is out of season and the taps aren't on. They were happy to make me a sandwich for the morning. It's just what I wanted, great value and as described.

Creaking floors, loud clicking pipe work, heating was switched off in the evening just as it was getting cold. The bathroom is 80's. The evening meal and breakfast portions small. Middle aged woman taking BF order was extremely unfriendly, incomplete meal served had to ask for remainder could hear her in the kitchen complaining about me asking for it.

The atmosphere was so silent no background music neither in the evening or morning. All the other quests where whispering or silent. There was lots of outside seating none of the previous evenings glasses had been cleaned up 24 hours later, which by now had the next day's glasses packed on the table which had also not been taken away from that day. There was no room on any of the tables to actually use them. Not worth a return.
