Rossett Hall Hotel

Probably the worst afternoon tea we have ever had. Some of the sandwiches were dry and the beef one was very chewy. The fillings were uninspiring. Not much choice of cakes just a tiny slice of chocolate cake which was dry and the frosting so sweet it was unpleasant and didn't taste like chocolate. A tiny slice of Bakewell tart again too sweet. A small pot of Panna cotta which wasn't set properly and a scone which was dry.

To be honest it all tasted like the sandwiches and cakes had been purchased from a local supermarket and put on a plate. The waitress was uninterested. The only positives were the location and the cup of tea! Very disappointing!

Really quite like this hotel. Good food and nice staff. Beer selection could do with growing but still ok

Lovely hotel, visited for a works event. Staff were helpful and friendly, WiFi was very stable and fast. Mobile phone reception in Rossett is awful so connect to that WiFi for sure!

Lovely place, gardens are beautiful and well kept. Staff very pleasant and helpfull. Stayed in room 30 and the bed was so soft and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

We got married at Rossett Hall on Friday 25th March 2022, from start to finish the team have been amazing, we postponed our wedding due to covid the team were great in helping us move the date. We arrived at Rossett hall on Thursday to take everything for the wedding nothing was too much trouble we left things downstairs for the team to put out the next morning.

I stayed there the night before the wedding the room was fantastic, the morning of the wedding I popped down to see how things were well I didn't need to everything was taken care of the wedding favours were all out all of our extras that we had taken with us were out. During the wedding anything anyone needed from the team they got. My husband spilt something on my wedding dress (marriage nearly lasted 10 minutes) the team helped get the stain out of my dress and it looked new again.

Wedding breakfast was lovely, rooms were all incredible. Everyone at our wedding completed on how nice the staff were and how nice the hotel was. The morning after breakfast was very nice. We got fresh eggs cooked loads of choice to pick from. Would recommend to anybody get married at Rossett hall you won't get a better and nicer team anywhere else they treat you like family. Can't wait to go back.

Appears to have been done up. Room very comfortable although couldn't find the heating control to warm it up. Lack of a plug by the bed for my phone was irritating.

The following letter to the hotel was written in response to the Hotel's message asking if we enjoyed our stay. There has been no response, from them, to this letter. "Dear Sirs, Thank you for your message, we are today home after a short stay at your hotel. I expressed some dis-satisfaction as we settled the bill and the receptionist suggested I write so I had begun before your message was received.

I must say that the hotel's staff were most helpful and friendly and that the breakfasts, and the one evening meal we had, were excellent. The staff did not hesitate to go out of their way to meet my Penny's gluten-free requirements, the placings were clean and the environment safe. I'm sorry to say that the room itself, however, is certainly showing its age or simply excessive wear.

The floors and the bed are remarkably creaky, both in ours and, quite audibly, in adjacent rooms. The bathroom (although we can report the shower was superb) had cracked tiles, missing or damaged grouting and sealant, and a faint-hearted extractor fan. The TV was very small and there was no bed making or room servicing as standard. Although it was otherwise reasonably comfortable we have come to expect a little more for the level of tarif asked.

The Saturday night was extremely noisy as there was a wedding reception taking place. The band, and the rowdy behaviour of some of those attending, staying in rooms nearby ours, was disruptive to sleep simply because the sound-proofing was inadequate. We woke on the Sunday morning exhausted. I would never wish to deny the families and friends of matrimonial couples their celebration, and quite understand their worth to the hotel, but would suggest they were accommodated away from "regular" guests, or visa-versa.

I would not want to report this on trip advisor as I am aware how damaging, sometimes simply misleading, reports can be. I understand that moods can alter perceptions and circumstances change hour to hour. For example I read several bad reviews of your local pub the Alyn but we decided to eat there anyway. It was excellent. Basically our stay at your hotel was, on balance, adequate. some aspects enjoyable and others an experience we would never wish to repeat.

Overall we were left feeling we had not experienced value for money we expected from our research via your website. I hope this feedback helps and invite your comments. Yours sincerely, R Hamer" Draw your own conclusions.

Really impressed with the friendliness of all the staff. Meals were really good. Our room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. A lovely weekend spent with my daughter.

The Hotel itself is stunning. The room was cosy, clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also lovely. Only downside of this hotel was the restaurant. The food took a long time to come out (we were given a complimentary drink to apologise) but the food was nice, breakfast was quite basic but ok. Would recommend staying here as it was cosy and spacious.

We had our wedding here at Rossett Hall and we are very happy that we chose this place for our special day. The team have been with us every step of the way with getting everything sorted and nothing was too much trouble. The day itself was perfect. Staff were very attentive and things ran very smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious and got demolished by ourselves and our guests. Emily, the events manager, kept in touch to ensure we had everything we needed and we were very well informed as to the timings, etc of the day. Thank you for helping to make our day so special.

Really enjoyed our time at Rossett Hall great venue for a Wedding and great food. The only minor irritation was the internet speed in the room it was extremely slow, I wouldn't like to rely on this if staying over and needed to work from the room in the evening.
