Chatsworth House

Just had brilliant 3 day stay. Went with Caledonian and enjoyed every minute. Driver Andy and Chatsworth hotel staff and entertainers so welcoming and friendly. Many thanks from Sandi and Barbara from Hull

Room window wouldn't open, wash sink blocked, no telephone as advertised. Staff kind and willing, room a bit shabby, clean linen, bed comfortable. Breakfast decent, crockery a bit dodgy as dishwasher always broken. We had dinner once, which on our limited experience, we couldn't recommend. We had a lovely sea view only partially blocked by scaffolding. So depends on what you are looking for.

Our room on second floor was large and airy, and it was clean. Bathroom was strange. Cold tap on wash basin when turned on sounded like a very loud elephant call. Toilet seat was old and flush took several tries to work. Food was good especially breakfast.

Spent 5 lovely days here, room spacious and clean, the staff friendly and helpful. Laura in the restaurant works her socks off it's a shame her staff let her down so badly. Overall an enjoyable holiday would stay at the Chatsworth again.

Enjoyed our stay. Rooms adequate and clean. Very helpful staff in restaurant and bar. Reception worked hard to provide good service. Not the most modern hotel but acceptable for the price

Wasn't at all happy with the bar staff. Every time you bought the same drink it was a different price. Shower was non existent just a trickle of water. Breakfast was very good. Dinner potatoes and vegetables over cooked. Dinner servers were very polite and helpful.

I stayed here with my mum for 4 nights on a majestic coach trip. Staff we're excellent entertainment was very good Bed room was very spacious with a lovely sea view of Llandudno pier. Food was okay Our coach driver Tony was awesome. Thanks for a great holiday.

Staff are so nice and friendly and food is plentiful and tasty.the thing that let's it down are the rooms, they had to change our mattress due to all the springs poking through, bed is well past its re newal. Everything in the room needs overhauling, bathroom is tiled and looks lovely but very poor water pressure makes it very hard to shower, if improvements were made then score would be higher. Entertainment 5/5 on both nights

Nice seafront location. Many areas are tired and need redecorating/new carpeting. Water in bathroom lukewarm only. Service in dining area chaotic. Staff very stressed and customer service poor. Long wait for food at breakfast, despite being given set time (8.30) Food quality ok Bar staff friendly and efficient. Entertainment good

The hotel under renovation, our room given to us was on the 2nd floor, the decoration was very nice in the main room. but the bathroom left a lot to be desired, odd tiles on the walls, in some places no tiles, mouldy sealant around, and underneath the sink, my husband was elderly, and infirm we had no shower, a bath with no hand rails on the bath or wall, so we complained and they changed our room no problem, the second room had been renovated and was really lovely, with a walk in shower so give them time, staff are really nice and a warm welcome is given, very friendly. Food mediocre depending on what's on the menu. Cleanliness in some areas leaves a lot to be desired.

Lovely hotel, clean, comfortable - staff really nice and lovely food. They made us really welcome and added lots of finishing touches as it was mid November they went all out to get in the Christmas spirit, decorations, presents and Santa at breakfast. I would definitely book there again. Thank you to all the staff for making me and my friends welcome.

Just don't bother! Just got back from a weekend stay. Hotel in desperate need of an entire make over failing that, closing down. Hotel smells funny. Rooms tiny extremely outdated, smelt like a hospital ward. Food again extremely comparable to hospital food. The bar is stupidly over priced. Just do yourself a favour and DO NOT stay here. The only plus side is most of the staff are very nice and i suppose the breakfast was OK.

What can i say turned up to check in at 3 the time it told us it would be ready to be told that they had issues and it wouldn't be ready until 4. Once in the room at 4 a quick inspection showed it to be disgusting in the bathroom and everywhere else. I had to go to housekeeping and get bleach to clean it all. There were bugs everywhere mainly on the new towels.

The reason we stayed was that we were with friends and couldn't get anywhere else. The only reason i have given it 2 stars was that one of the staff had picked up an ipad that 1 of our children had left out and very kindly returned it the next day. I approached the manager on checkout and he wasn't interested. I have posted photos of the room and shower it really was disgusting.

Room clean, mattresses OK but wash hand basin in small bedroom which meant that when in use the other occupant couldn't move around. Food edible but very limited choice. We were told we had set times for our meals due to staff shortages which meant 7.45am breakfast and 5.30pm evening meal with no flexibility. This hotel was recommended to us by a coach driver so I can only assume that they are given a different standard to the guests!

Beds were absolutely awful. Could feel every spring of the mattresses. We had a family room with 1 double and 2 single beds. The double was sloping and had a massive depression in it. All mattresses in the room have seen better days, probably not changed for few decades. Rooms were dated, but that's just a decor. The weirdest thing was head hight in the bathroom.

Room had very high Victorian ceiling but bathroom was bearly suitable for 6ft tall visitors Food very average. Its only good if you want to stay over and get ridiculously drunk every night so you don't notice the mattresses

A decent enough place to spend a couple of nights. The room was clean and big enough for the two of us, and had a 'view' of the sea through a medium sized window. Keeping with the Victorian theme, the mattress was outdated and out of touch with the times, with the tight springs meaning that if the relatively heavier person moves in their sleep, it could bounce the other one off the bed.

The one real issue was that the shower did not work for the entirety of the weekend, which we were politely told meant that nothing could be done, other than making peace about spending the holiday with greasy hair.

A really great hotel in a brilliant location. Room was very clean and tidy with fresh towels and bedding. All the staff are friendly here from the young man who checked me in to the cleaning and bar staff and there was entertainment every night. I would have loved to stay longer but had to go home for work. I shall be coming back!

Disappointed with this hotel. Bit disorganised in dining area. Food marks on walls which we had to ask to be removed. Glasses which were not washed properly. The bedrooms are tired & worn. Beds with springs coming through. Sink in bedroom with separate bath & toilet. Shower power terrible. Needs a refurb. Looks better from outside & in perfect location on sea front.

No customer service whatsoever, problems from beginning to end. Booking not updated, could not accommodate us for breakfast or evening meal. Too busy to book us a taxi! Needed a table in our room as I was intending to paint having paid 20 per night for a sea view in order to do so the member of staff had forgotten the request but as we reminded them we still had no table rooms were dirty and tired. Couldn't see the sea view for dirty fingerprints on windows. Thick dust on wall over bed. We will never stay here again.
