Services
A noble history? The name 'Bodysgallen' may mean either 'house among thistles' or 'the abode of Cadwallon', a 6th century chieftain. Bodysgallen Hall is a Grade 1 17th century house that has been skilfully and sympathetically restored by Historic House Hotels Limited since 1980 and given to the National Trust in 2008.
Located just two miles from the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno, and 1 mile from Llandudno Junction railway station, Bodysgallen Hall is approached by a winding drive through meadows and parkland. You will find all the modern comforts in the 15 individually decorated bedrooms (including four Principal Suites) in the main Hall or in the 16 cottage suites located in the garden court or near the Bodysgallen Spa. Start the day at Bodysgallen Hall and Spa with a hearty Welsh breakfast in The Dining Room restaurant, also serving lunch and dinner.
Bodysgallen Hall is surrounded by over 200 acres of its own parkland and beautiful gardens - both manicured and wild. The gardens have been recognised for their award-winning restoration. Featured are the rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet smelling herbs, at the centre of which is a sundial dated 1678, natural limestone outcrops, a rockery with water cascade, walled gardens, lily pond and several follies. There is also a formal rose garden and a number of well-established specimen trees and shrubs, including medlar and mulberry.
Head Gardener Robert Owen has worked at Bodysgallen for over 35 years, and with his team oversees the restoration programme of the award-winning gardens. Throughout the year Robert hosts a programme of themed Garden Tours, which will give you an insight into the restoration and ongoing work that take place in our gardens through the seasons.

Wonderful stay in one of their studio spa cottages. Room is beautiful, well laid out and lovely features. Service is very good and nothing too much trouble. Gareth showed me to my cottage, he was very informative and offered to help me with my bags. Spa is just indescribable, its lovely! Lovely, secured and just oozes relaxation. Only one small blip, the heating gets rather carried away and in the hall between the main room, bathroom and kitchenette the radiator can't be lowered, it heated the entire room for me! Sorry to the next person if they like a warmer room, as I've turned the radiators off in the main room! Loved it, just wish it was closer!

This was my first visit. I had an aromatherapy and the whole experience was wonderful. From my initial telephone conversation to book to the warm welcome at the spa. The masseuse Mia is highly trained, experienced and intuitive. I can't praise her enough. After my lovely spa session I went for a walk around the formal gardens ( staff were kind enough to allow this even though I wasn't booked in at the Hall).
This continued to help my mental wellbeing after my aromatherapy. The mansion and grounds are stunning even though most plants had not woken up, being early Spring. Reading some of the other reviews I think it is quite right that members and formal diners at the hall take priority as the prices are high but for a reason. I stepped into the hall just to confirm that it was okay for me to walk around the gardens.
The large oak door was opened for me by a very smartly dressed man/staff before my hand reached the handle. What a super service and one which staying guests or diners pay for.

Had afternoon tea here. My other half doesn't have dairy and usually for him it means he misses out as he can only have a small portion of what I get to have. Not here. He was offered as many cakes as I was! Dairy free banoffee pie, almond slice, shortbread biscuit, flapjack and bara brith! All served by Gareth - extremely charming. Will definitely go again.
