Albany House After a crazy off-season and welcoming another little one to our family, we have decided to utilize the house this year as an Airbnb property. This means you will be able to book out the entire home for a weekend (or week!) with your friends and family. Bedrooms at Albany House have private baths, king or queen-sized beds, and comfortable chairs for relaxing.

Parents were visiting from out town and the perfect place to give them their own space. Incredibly friendly.

I stayed in this home as an Airbnb guest, but I loved it so much I really wanted to leave a review. Based on the airbnb listing photos I was expecting "grandma's house", something a little musty and outdated. Wow, that couldn't have been further from our experience! What an incredibly cool and historic home. There has clearly been a significant amount of care in updating this home for modern guests but preserving the original charm and history. Bang-on job.

We found ourselves constantly wanting to learn more about the home! You could spend your entire trip just exploring inside the house itself, all of the cool knickknacks, treasures and board games to find throughout. We were not without a single modern comfort, and the SIX bathrooms (including three ensuites) were an incredible value for our trip. We all slept very comfortably in the four bedrooms.

We went to bed earlier than the rest of the group and couldn't hear a sound from downstairs even though we were right above them chatting and playing music. Not to mention it was immaculately clean. A trip to this home is MONEY WELL SPENT! Period! If I could offer a suggestion for the owners for an even more incredible stay, I would say we would have loved to find a detailed history of the home.

We saw many of the historic photos and assumed they were original family, but it would have been cool to read and learn even more about the home during our stay. And, I would be remiss not to mention that if you are a larger person there are definitely some areas of the house that are not as plus-size friendly, BUT it did not significantly impact the quality of the stay. Just something to be aware of, especially for the ensuite bathrooms :)

I booked this B&B for my sister's bachelorette weekend and I was NOT disappointed! Roxanne and Greg were amazing. They were always close enough when we needed something, but gave us space at the same time. The house itself is gorgeous inside and out, down to every last detail. There is a huge yard for activities and a dock across the street perfect for river tubing! We will definitely be back!

We loved our stay, even though it was only one night. Every detail of the house and breakfast was perfect! Roxanne is definitely in her element serving as a B&B host. She is so down to earth and gracious, thus we enjoyed her conversation along with her husband, Greg and cute toddler, Reece. We highly recommend and hope to return again.

We rented out the entire bed and breakfast for a bachelorette party weekend! It was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious- we even got fresh eggs from their chickens across the street! The bed and breakfast was spacious and the owner (Roxanne) was very thoughtful and accommodating. We all decided we will definitely be back! Highly recommend.

My wife & I had a short but very relaxing stay. Owners were more than helpful plus it was very private & quiet. Would recommend it any day over a corporate hotel chain! Local & cozy! Thank you!

This is a long overdue, sorry Roxanne for my delay! My husband and our 2 dear friends stayed at Albany House in the Eagles Nest suite in September (2019).a few weeks after Roxanne and her husband purchased the place. Roxanne was warm and gracious. She has already put her cute touches on the house (taking down old wallpaper, pictures, adding new cute things) Our breakfasts were delicious.

The suite was great for us-we had our own rooms, common bathroom and living room.we were able to hang out, play games, tv, etc. We were made to feel welcome and could explore the grounds. Close to town- we walked for pizza. And we rode our bicycles to the Sugar River State Trail for a day of riding. Reece was a cutie! Cinderella was sweet and kind. Great stay. Beautiful house. Great hostess! 5 stars!

Absolutely the most wonderful experience! Roxanne is amazing. Fantastic host. Delicious breakfasts. The space is amazing. Beds comfortable. Cozy decor and lots of attention to detail. She went the extra mile! Reese was a cute and smiley toddler. No complaints whatsoever. So many fun things to do in the area. Small town charm abounds. Place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Complete silence. Lovely space. Well appointed. Lots of original woodwork, marble sinks, faucets, etc. This is a very historic home. Fluffy towels and bathrobes. Soap, lotion and other essentials are available in case you forget something. Treats, coffee and tea were available at all times. Games and books and magazines in the room. Flexible hosts just full of local information. Restaurant menus, maps and information on things to do are available. Just awesome all the way around!

Our group spent 2 days this past weekend at the Albany House, some in the group had stayed here before, and it was very accommodating, and the hosts were very gracious! We will definately be back as we enjoy the tubing on the Sugar River, and the short walk to the B&B. Thanks Ken & Pat (Margie wasn't there this time.).

Roxanne is 30 but an old soul. She loves great conversation and interaction. Roxanne and Greg are on the right track. B+B's are about family and our progression through life. If your looking for spending your stay on the internet or computer devices not for u. They have 2 great dogs and young child. This makes the stay even better. Best stay we've had in a while.

I have no context for other B&B's, but this was a great first experience. The house had a cozy vibe, the host was super nice, and the food was delicious. And it was a short walk from the house to S&B Tubing, which was our reason for being in Albany in the first place. I would definitely stay again.

The home was built in 1908 and has been well kept. The ambiance is one typical of such B&Bs-- antiques, old books, etc. The breakfast was advertised as the best in the area and it was excellent. The price was good, as many B&Bs nearby we're 50% more for a night. The bed was also very comfortable, although the old window air conditioner rattled and was noisy, waking us several times though the night (the Cozy room).

The only negative I can add was that the room needed better cleaning; there was fuzz and stuff all over the carpet. This is likely due to the age (mid 70s) and infirmities of the innkeepers. We never met her but he was gracious, knowledgeable of the area, and interesting to get to know.

Stayed here as last minute plans over Valentine's Day Weekend. (Literally one night) I made arrangements with Ken over the phone and he was very professional and pleasant. He also reminded us to try making reservations for dinner and recommended The Dining Hall (noting that it may be already full but to try just in case as it was supposed to be a remarkable spot for a nice dinner).

Check in time was between 4-7pm. And we arrived around 4-5 pm and was welcomed by Ken. Ken gave us a binder full of restaurants nearby in case we hadn't found a spot and we sat by the fireplace to review our options. (NOTE: All the highly rated restaurants were already fully booked so we settled on a random Swiss restaurant.) After dinner, we found ourselves just wanting to relax a little more by the fireplace whilst drinking some wine in the common area and unfortunately it was already off by 10:25 pm.

The room we stayed in was the Rose Room, which was not far off from the beautiful antique furniture and decorations surrounding the remainder of the house. They also provided some relaxing cd's if we decided to hang out on the room. It was very cold so we notified Ken and he gave us an electric heater. :) I believe half of the house is designated as the inn as there are doors that say Out of Bounds or Private.

These areas are where Ken and Margie live. I'm curious if their half looks just as quaint as their business part.;) THE BEST PART: The breakfast. After having a disappointing dinner last night over grease and basically hotdogs, this breakfast was top notch stuff. We sat in the dining room with the other guests and enjoyed food and good conversations while Ken tended to us around in a cute apron making sure we had our coffees filled.

We dined on (I believe they were) poached pears covered in a sweet cream sauce garnished with raspberries. On the side there were iced poppy seed scones and I think banana nut bread? VERDICT? Picture me kissing the tip of my thumb and forefinger making an OK sign. If I had a handlebar mustache, I'd be saying magnifique! The second entree was a creamy quiche topped with mushrooms, sided with broiled asparagus, a sweet pepper stuffed with cheese, and then last but not least maple covered bacon (candied bacon). CRUNCH! We checked out at 11am and plan to come back sometime during the warmer seasons when we had more time to canoe and visit the local breweries/wineries and snack on cheese!

Can't say enough good things about this B&B. It's peaceful, tastefully decorated, clean, great out of this world breakfasts & wonderful inn hosts, Ken & Margie. We stayed in the Cozy Room which had a private bath across the hall.thought that would be an issue, but not at all! (Not like people hang out in the hallway!) Common area on main level had a great TV & DVD, too. Went midweek, so there weren't too many guests which was also nice.however we had wonderful conversations over breakfasts & coffee.

The area has enough to do.even on the rainy days we were there. (Wineries, distilleries, breweries, creameries kept us busy indoors!) Ken shared his area favorites which were well advised!

At the last minute my husband and I found ourselves with a free weekend so we decided to look for a place to get away. We live in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and didn't want to spend all our time on the road getting to our destination. It was July and most everything on the water was filled to capacity so we began looking into B & B's in WI.

Green County came up in our search and Albany House was highly rated. We took a chance and were not disappointed. The home sits on about 2 acres, a very peaceful setting, many gardens and a lovely sense of tranquility. A large front porch with seating, a swing and plenty of mosquito abatement welcomes you! Our room was one of the bedrooms in the Eagle's nest at the top of the home.

It was comfortably and thoughtfully appointed and decorated. All the conveniences were available and waiting. Breakfast was excellent, Margie is a wonderful chef and Ken made a wonderful server. We sampled some local cheese and had more than enough food to satisfy us until we were ready for a late afternoon meal. The guests were delightful, conversation flowed and we all lingered past 10 am just enjoying ourselves.

Green County is a wonderful explore and Albany was a wonderful place base to travel from. We'd go back in a heartbeat, especially as the seasons change so we can see the area in all it's various splendor. And we'd especially go back to enjoy the hospitality of Margie and Ken and Albany House!

We've stayed at a lot of B&Bs over the years, and Albany House is first rate. Cool house, beautifully appointed without being stuffy, amazing breakfast. The owner, Margie, is a delight. This, combined with dinner @ 209 Main in Monticello, was the perfect way to end our trip to Wisconsin.

Our plans for Memorial Day fell through and we decided on a last minute trip to Cheese Country, WI. Originally we wanted to stay in New Glarus, but as we planned this the night before, everything was booked. We chose Albany House over a few other B&Bs in the area because the website was so comprehensive and the pictures were beautiful. It's 30 minutes outside New Glarus, so we still got to see the brewery and eat in town.

We requested and were given the Joshua Wood Master Bedroom. This was our first experience in a B&B and expected to be overwhelmed with flowers and knick knacks. The room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The King sized bed was really comfortable. The towels were really plush, and the decor was not overwhelming. The lemonade with fresh raspberries was a great welcome treat.

Breakfast the next morning was the highlight of the trip! Margie had a fruit parfait, muffins and coffee cake waiting for us, but then told us not to fill up because she was working on the main course! The cornmeal pancakes with real maple syrup were great, and the bacon was to die for! She chatted with us at the end of the meal, which was nice. I didn't expect to enjoy eating with strangers, but we met some fellow young Chicagoans and had a great conversation. I am recommending Albany House to my family and friends, and will be back. We didn't get to bike or canoe, and I'd love to try them!

I think we've been coming to Albany House for almost 10 years -- first to visit family in the area, and now we bring friends with us. Green County provides a nice getaway, and Albany House is the perfect base for us. There are four bedrooms on the second floor and the third floor is a suite (two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a common area). Their website has pictures of everything so you can see the rooms before you make a reservation. Albany isn't a well-known destination, but if you want to relax, ride your bike on the Sugar River trail, sample lots of cheeses, visit the best brewery in Wisconsin (or any combination of those things), I would recommend checking out this B&B.

The breakfasts are fantastic -- enough to get you through most of the day. And now they just opened a cottage (really a vintage bungalow on the Sugar River) across the street with two bedrooms and bathrooms plus a whirlpool tub (in a separate room with a fireplace) and its own kitchen, dining room and living room. It looks really nice (but we haven't stayed there yet).
