St Georges House is family run and is situated in a quiet road between the town centre and the cliff top walk. Both can be easily reached on foot within 2 minutes making St Georges House the perfect location for all the amenities and facilities of Shanklin. St Georges House was built in 1870 and even though the well presented and furnished rooms offer every modern day comfort, many of the original features have been retained.

My wife and I had an excellent stay at St George's House in October 2021. Pearly and Mark are first class hosts and for breakfast provide a wide range of well-cooked hot food as well as a cold selection. The room we were in was lovely with a bay window and two extremely comfortable armchairs. If we return to the Isle of Wight we will stay at St George's again.

We stayed at St George's house in June and enjoyed it so much we have booked to return in September. The house is lovely, decorated to a high standard, well maintained and spotlessly clean. The decor and layout give it a homely feeling and we were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Mark and Pearly are a lovely couple and throughout our stay they could not do enough for us and the other guests.
The breakfasts are fantastic, Pearly makes an amazing porridge which I would advise everyone to try. We started off having the full English breakfast which to be fair is one of the best I've had anywhere. Once we tried Pearly's porridge we alternated between the two as we just couldn't manage both. We returned one afternoon to be ambushed in the hallway by Pearly who was armed with cake she'd just taken out of the oven.
It was a fruit sponge and tasted so good I asked for another piece which I took to the room to enjoy. Our room was spacious, bright, well decorated and maintained, ample storage for clothing, spotlessly clean and well supplied with tea's, coffee, water and toiletries. Thank you Mark and Pearly, we had a fantastic time on the Isle of Wight and at St George's house and look forward to returning.

From the beginning to the end of our stay at St George's House Hotel, we were very impressed with Pearly and Mark's hospitality and friendliness. On arrival we were greeted by Pearly, who offered us hot drinks and homemade carrot cake, which was delicious and really did melt in the mouth. We were shown round and familiarised with the facilities, which are all Covid-friendly.
Our room was lovely, well presented and clean. Bottled water, tea, coffee and biscuits were a welcome addition, not to mention the chocolates! The room was cleaned daily and the complimentary toiletries in the bathroom were very nice. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and the room was quiet, so we slept well. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide choice of food, all presented nicely and plenty of it.
We enjoyed drinks in the bar in the evening and Mark was a great host, talking to us about all kinds of interesting things and was very helpful regarding tips on where to go in the area. The hotel is in a lovely location, with transport and attractions easily accessed. On our last night we were even treated to a bottle of bubbly, as we had stayed for our late wedding anniversary celebration. We enjoyed our stay so much that we hope to book again next year. Great all round and highy recommended.

Pearly and Mark were absolutely wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived with Pearly's delicious poppy seed cake, to the comfortable bed and the amazing breakfast options we absolutely loved our stay. On our final morning they really went above and beyond getting up early to make us breakfast before we caught the boat and I was especially thankful when they posted back my pillow which I managed to leave behind. I would not hesitate to recommend St George's House and would love to come back and stay again.

Perfect in every way! We stayed here as a family of 5; 2 x 80+ year olds, 2 x 50+ And 1x 16 year old. The hosts couldn't do enough for us and it was such a lovely stay. The breakfast was my favourite with ample choices from smoked salmon and scrambled eggs; bacon sandwiches; eggs, bacon and all the trimmings to homemade waffles. They are fantastic cooks and it was a delight to try their homemade frittata, tomatoes (done mark's special recipe and yogurts topped with fruits, seeds and honey.
Literally something for everyone! Unexpected little touches made this place so welcoming - an unexpected piece of cake (homemade of course) whilst playing cards in the evening; tea bags of every description in the rooms; a fan provided to keep my parents cool - nothing was too much trouble. The owners are so hardworking and dedicated to their guests. We loved the dinner sets (different ones on each table) and other pretty and quirky little touches. Would so recommend (and have done)!

Fantastic b&b with undoubtedly the best owners ever. Nothing is too much trouble for Mark & Pearly who accommodate your every need. Beautifully clean rooms with immaculate bedding and towels. Welcome chocolates, biscuits & water are a lovely extra. Breakfasts are very varied with so much choice and beautifully cooked. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

Had the best time, absolutely lovely place to stay. This wasn't our original B&B, we were double booked and St George's was given to us as an alternative and I think we struck lucky. I can't find anything negative about staying here, the breakfast was excellent and Mark?, who I called John. who sounds just like Alan Rickman. is such a lovely lovely man, really friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back. happy happy happy

Could not recommend St. George's House enough. Mark & Pearly are great hosts and will go above and beyond to make your visit extra special and make you feel at home. Tea with homemade carrot and coffee cake on arrival was a great touch. The breakfast was lovely and the kids loved Pearly's crepes. Very clean and tidy too. We will certainly be returning when we visit the Isle of Wight again.

The most welcoming people you could meet, tea and homemade cake upon arrival, fine attention to details such as petite sugar spoons, residence lounge to sit and chat with Pearly the owner, Very warm and friendly people, nothing to small a problem, anything you want just ask, I forgot my shower hat, kindly found disposable one for me, breakfast was fab, fruit salad, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, juice and fill English, followed by toast and pots of tea.
The rooms were lovely, so comfy with mattress topper, sank into it at night, the sheets crisp and smelt Devine. our bag was even delivered to our room as we had arrived early. Thank you mark and pearly, your hospitality was most amazing. We will be back. (Annemarie and Philip, dad and daughter from Ireland)
