The Bull Inn Hotel A rich sense of history and nostalgia pervade The Bull. Indeed its business dates back to 1385 and records show the inn's first license in 1495. Pilgrims journeying to Canterbury would take refuge at The Bull and Second World War fighter pilots, from the nearby bases of Biggin Hill and West Malling, celebrated their victories in the very same spot.

The Bull is an attractive three storey building and residence here offers an insight into quiet country living. The 14th century inn has been restored to accentuate its period detail, such as the original exposed oak beams and an Inglenook fireplace.

Lovely Sunday Lunch, we've been twice recently. The lamb is absolutely delicious having been slowly roasted for hours and the sirloin beef joint is fairly pink and quite rare. You don't really need the added expense of 'extras' as you get plenty of veg, a large Yorkshire pud, small potatoes and roasters with extra gravy being offered too.
We accept online bookings for parties of less than ten. If you would like to book for a larger group, please contact us on 01732 789 800 to check availability. Please speak to a member of our staff about any dietary requirement and we will discuss it with our chefs.

Went for a wedding on the hottest day of the year. The room for the ceremony 'the buttery was nicely decorated and not too hot. The outside building had a very smart retractable roof which kept the sun out but allowed a nice bit of breeze through. Only went into the main part of the pub briefly but it was very clean with good service. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff are absolutely fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Nice location. Unfortunately the food let it down it was over priced and not great. Also drinks are very pricey. First time of every trying the Bull. We would go back for a drink but not the food.

Dessert was nice, one had pavlova and the other had the set chocolate mousse with orange curd and cocoa nibs.

A fruit crumble or pie would be a welcome addition to the menu for my better half as that's what he actually prefers. Staff are always friendly, attentive but remain unobtrusive. Our friends were impressed and are going to recommend The Bull at Wrotham to others as would we.

We seem to have stumbled into a parallel universe where an omelette and chips cost 12.50 where the smokehouse chicken (19) is served dangerously undercooked and devoid of any recognisable taste, where the "Ex -dairy " burger (17.50) comes so dense and devoid of moisture it could be used as tarmac filler. Desserts are 9.50 (more than the Ivy) and the dining room looks like a cross between a stable and a nursery reception area. Ikea tables and chairs but Mayfair prices. Has the world gone mad? Update Further to the childish response from the owner, it must be re-iterated that everything in the review was as stated.

Nothing was made up, embellished, or fabricated and there are four witnesses to the fact that the waiter ignored our protests at the undercooked chicken. Perhaps the Bull is the best restaurant in the UK.but rather than have the balls to admit it may have been an off day for the cook, the owner has decided to chose the nuclear option of castigating the reviewer.

Maybe the owner hasn't eaten in many places outside Kent, and obviously has not a clue as to how much of a rip-off the restaurant industry can be to the unwary and less well off, but would he rather live in Russia where there is only one version of everything? Being kind has nothing to do with it. Potential customers deserve to know of any failings as well as successes.

1st time visitors today and from the moment we walked in we felt we were onto a good one. The service was excellent and the food matched the pleasant atmosphere. Korean chicken wings were great and the roast dinner was absolutely banging! Best beef I have tasted in years and the lamb/pork roast combo was spot on. Will highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Good selection of beers, but very pricey. The roast beef wasn't cooked to our requirements and we wasn't asked how we would like it cooked prior to its arrival and it came up red and fatty. The fish & chips with peas was quite nice though. The waitress was a little moody and we got the feeling that she didn't really want to be there and had a bit of an attitude problem.

We found the whole experience a real shame as my wife and I was treating my Aunt and Uncle to the meal for their diamond wedding celebration which was mentioned at the time we booked. Unfortunately it fell well short of our expectations as the Bull was recommended to us by a friend.

I stayed for 1 night in the Bull Hotel for business purposes. The hotel is a short journey from Borough Green and Wrotham train station. I was checked into room 8 and found it absolutely charming. I had a comfortable night's sleep and my room had all the amenities I needed for my one night stay. The building is over 600 years old, and the style of the room compliments the sloping wood beams and floors.

As the building is so old, they are limited as to what they can do with it (understandably!) so be prepared for some stairs (nothing major) and small corridors. I ate at the restaurant that night and had the hanger steak, some red wine, and the cheese board - absolutely delicious! Would love to come back again another time on a leisure trip.

We recently attended a small festival near Wrotham and we opted to locate a decent local establishment for a Sunday lunch. After conducting some research online, we made a reservation at The Bull- it was billed as a recently revamped hotel restaurant that sourced local Kentish produce and offered an attractive selection of roasts at very reasonable prices.

We arrived just before 15:00 and the restaurant wasn't too full, but the outdoor area seemed to be popular and the indoor area is quite spacious. The staff were friendly and attentive, asking us about the festival and allowing us to linger over a cup of coffee afterwards so that we could charge our mobile phones. The decor of The Bull is charming country pub with a touch of farmhouse: clean white walls, exposed beams and heavy wooden mahogany fixtures with the obligatory large (unused) fireplace.

The staff, service and presentation of food were accurate, efficient, professional and comparable to a much more expensive London gastropub. Our roasts were immaculately delivered on the plate, consisting of goose fat roasties, a Yorkshire pudding, a good portion of gravy and seasonal vegetables. I had the chicken breast and it arrived plump and well-seasoned.

My boyfriend had the roast beef, which came out perfectly cooked, retaining its pinkness and no trace of fat. This was a pretty plate- no 'lashings' here- and I missed a large portion and selection of vegetables. I am one of the few who swoon at a generous divvying of parsnips, carrots, green beans and cabbage on my plate to counterbalance the more stodgy components. Regardless, I easily cleaned my plate as this was not a heaped portion, but a delicate touch on a satisfying lunch.

The Bull is worth a visit for a consistent high standard of locally-sourced food at exceptional value- the Sunday lunch is commendable, the atmosphere is modern in a traditional setting and the service is very pleasant.

Wow.what a wonderful find! A delectable treat of deliciousness! We had driven passed this place for the last year without venturing inside. A review in a local paper reminded us to book a table and check it out. I am so glad we did! Set in the sweet village of Wrotham, Kent, this restaurant was cosy but modern, friendly and the food. WOW! I had Foie Gras to start, on a bed of Black Pudding served with the most delicate gooseberry puree (i think).

My mouth is watering thinking about it. just perfect. I had rack of lamb for my main served with goats cheese and a fig compote of sorts. the combination of flavours was perfect and the lamb cooked perfectly. My other half had pork belly for mains and was equally over the moon. (although may resent me using that phrase to describe him) My only slight negative would be the portion size of the main courses. You defo need a starter to leave satisified. It is quite pricey but worth every penny. I will definitely be returning.
