My husband often works from here and today I joined him for lunch. It was excellent. I had heard great things about the calamari (and was especially excited as it is gluten free) and it did not disappoint. Perfectly crisp well seasoned outside and cooked but not rubbery inside. He had the pork flatbread which was huge, that was also very delicious. Very nice place when 'working from home'

This place is quirky & unique. The staff are wonderful, food great & service spot on. Rooms & beds etc really comfy. There is 1 disabled parking space & the pizza patio & the 4 stable rooms are accessible, but sadly that's it! Getting into the main building for dinner & breakfast is a major task & if fully disabled with wheelchair, you would not be able to do it.
The gardens are lovely with deck chairs & coffee shop, afternoon teas all would be great, just not disability friendly. The manager I'm sure thought l was joking when l said l was part of disability police & inspection team. But all my reviews are geared around accessibility . I would stay again in the stables & suggested a couple of things to make it a bit more easy for folk like me who cannot do steps etc, there's more than enough room to do a ramp in the garden & 1 to the side of the main door. All the staff were exceptional.

What a wonderful place! Seeing the negative reviews from people who have NEVER been here made me quite upset (reviews from watching an old episode of four in a bed). I stayed here after a work event at The Wellcome Genome campus, grabbed my book and a couple of cocktails to unwind under the outside marquee - delicious cocktails (fresh, not syrupy and tacky), incredible and relaxing atmosphere (soft acoustic music playing in the background), lovely decor (comfortable furniture with so many choices of seating and fairy lights, blankets) and wonderful staff (everyone was so lovely and kind).
I didn't have dinner so can't comment but I did have breakfast and oh my was it absolutely delicious! The bed was really comfortable (even took a picture of the duvet brand as I want one of those!) and room was so wroth the money for the price - lovely fresh decor. Only downside was no air con, was pretty warm in the loft room (even though there was a fan available to use) but can imagine even worse in the summer. Mini fridge was perfect too! Co-working space, really enjoyed working here in the morning as I'm always on video calls and there was plenty of space for this inside and outside with FULL BARS of INTERNET connection outside!
Very fast internet too as Teams calls can get laggy, but they didn't. Super impressed and can't wait to come back to stay with my partner. Thank you all for making this such a lovely, well needed, relaxing experience - worth every penny!

We went out for a friends birthday and we had the best evening. We started with cocktails at the bar and they did not disappoint. Incredible cocktails both flavour and to look at. The bar area is decorated so well and a lovely place to have a drink. We then went into the dining area and had a really lovely meal, we were all really impressed with our meal and the service. Thank you so much for a fantastic evening, I can't wait to return.

I thought that I should give an honest account of our experience and hope that your senior management see this email. Having booked and paid for one of the glasshouses for a special occasion, It would have been nice to have arrived with the music playing, the candle lit and everything better set up! (We had to ask twice for the music to be put on) Although the food was excellent, the experience was let down by the waiting staff.
We were served by four different waiters, so there was no continuity and although personable enough they were not engaging. We were left for long periods of time and in the end instead of staying and ordering champagne and coffee (which had been our plan), gave up and decided to go home. Even then, we waited too long for the bill and eventually, the young waiter appeared with it but, stopped to have a chat with work colleagues instead of bringing it to us directly.
It was really frustrating and unprofessional! I ended up having to go inside to pay at the desk. Working in the hospitality industry I'm acutely aware of the importance of customer service and satisfaction, now more than ever, in order to retain returning custom. For a sunny Sunday in April, it was very quiet and having read a couple of recent reviews expressing similar experiences I can understand why. It's a shame as a lot of effort has clearly gone into the decor, style and food.

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting the IWM Duxford aircraft displays. It was to be a bit of a treat so the accomodation was a little more than we usually pay. The room was nice and had all that you would expect at the price. A minor point, i am getting on in years and there were no grab handles in the shower and the pan was a little slippery.
The meal on the first evening was nice, it a tad expensive, probably due to the 20% service charge that was added, this so we ate elsewhere on the second night. The breakfasts were good, though at twenty pounds a head they aught to be. It money is not a worry, an OK place to stay but the lack of a lift could be a problem.

The staff could not of been any more attentive, from check in, to drinks, to service it was all perfect! Carlo one of the owners was incredibly accommodating, showing each rooms features and scenery to make it a perfect stay. The food was sublime and the scenery was impeccable. 100% will be staying regularly

Good food, lovely staff, clean rooms, nice building, really cool art.would normally have scored very highly. ****BUT**** they have a large outside eating area (which also looks nice) right up against the outside of the rooms. I'm trying to sleep and there are tables of people enjoying their evening just outside my room - the closest is just 3 meters from my pillow. So my review is based on "is this s good place to get some sleep" - the answer is "NO!".

Wow, what a wonderful Sunday Roast! Each and every piece of food was bursting with flavour and the overall portion size was just perfect! I am definitely going to be back for another Sunday lunch! (I chose to have extras roast potatoes, rather than a Yorkshire Pudding, as i'm Lactose Intolerant. However, the Yorkshire Pudding's looked amazing)

Booked this hotel for its proximity to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, so I would have been happy with a reasonable room and some decent nosh. What we got was a beautifully decorated room with real character, a really excellent meal and lovely staff. Beautiful area outside, where you can eat or just have a drink. I would highly recommend it. John.

Fabulous little gem. Outside seating areas around a fire pit, under sails, inside one of the four dining Glass Houses as well as the Restaurant. Lovely little touches of complimentary Sloe Gin, Chocolate Brownies, Bottled Water and Fresh Milk in the room. Breakfast very good as well as the Dinner menu for a 3x night stay. All Management and Staff as well as the Cleaners were so attentive. Can well recommend.

It was lovely to sit in the garden on a deckchair sipping tea in a country club hotel type place in the warm sunshine. My only criticism is that their selection of tea cakes quite limited and tea is a bag in a cup.more geared up for dinner on the terrace. If they could improve their tea time fare with proper tea time service it would be perfect.

Really loved it here. Stayed with bridal party to get ready for my daughters wedding. The decor is lovely with a great mix of period and contemporary. The food was great and the staff friendly. The outside seating area was great and loved the fire. A special mention though for Emma the housekeeping lady. She was an absolute star and was really helpful to us with various things. So thank you Emma! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it as a real gem!

This was hard to rate a 3 as I wanted to give 4 stars for the staff, menus, and how lovely they were but what bought it down to 3 I have to say was the interior especially the restaurant surroundings. As I said brilliant food my fillet steak meal could not be faulted and service, but at breakfast the floor was scattered with old food which was a build up of more than the night before I feel.
I also think the restaurant looked like a cafe and did not do The Lodge justice. When entering the lodge we were met with tacky pop art and retro furniture which was disappointing the outside screamed luxury I was deflated when I entered. Breakfast menu was lovely but I am bemused as to why I couldn't get simple cereal or just toast for those who don't want avocado, salmon etc (toddlers).
A lovely seating area outside with covered pods that were innovative and private or just sitting in the open air. We had the superior studio which slept 4 it felt a little like a dark dungeon im afraid but a lovely bed. (An iron would improve the family room) and the kitchen housed 2 of everything which didn't reflect occupancy. It was adequate for 1 night but more than that may have felt claustrophobic. I know my photo below only shows 1 piece of food but the panoramic view in person highlighted much more and you can see somewhat the standard of furniture. Adequate parking.

Incredible building snd gardens with a great history of guests who have stayed the Winston Churchill for one. the building has been transformed into a luxury boutique hotel with every room having the WOW factor. great restaurant and cafe too.cant recommend enough and cant wait to stay there again. oh and the breakfast in the morning which is included was a great ending to the memorable stay.
