I booked a room with them through Booking.com at a very good price, and I received the confirmation email. I assumed it was a special offer because I am a Genius client and the property was advertised as such. A few days before my trip the property sent an email saying that the price was an error and they offered a "discounted" price from 85 to 75, which was anyway more than my budget and more than other units available in the area at the moment of my reservation.

Without the special price I would have never stayed with them. I have checked on the day of my trip and the "discounted" price was actually the standard offer for this room advertised by the hotel with other websites. Two days after they sent the email, which I haven't noticed until the morning of my trip, the reservation was cancelled. Appalling customer treatment, by the hotel, but also by Booking. I will never make any reservation with this hotel again.

A nice, clean and comfortable hotel at a quiet place. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Complementary breakfast. Just a bit far from main city.

Very welcoming stat in a very picturesque are close by some very handy main routes. Staff could not of been more friendly and welcoming and every request I had was dealt with swiftly and politely. Comfy bed, heaters could do with being upgraded but room was more than comfortable. Shower provided enough power for what I needed. Nice to have a desk in the room with wardrobe. Cleanliness was A+ and there were no areas I felt had been covered up or neglected. No hesitations in recommending this hotel.

Near-flawless customer service with table service for breakfast (a rarity for accommodation in this price bracket) that was cooked to order. Located in a pleasant rural setting with easy access to M3 and the centre of Reading, though traffic can be heavy at peak periods. The small bar (which closes at 11pm) serves bottled drinks only but the seating area has some extremely comfortable leather sofas to sit on and a chess set for guests. Given.4 rather than 5 stars only due to the lack of central heating and although the accommodation was equipped with a wall-mounted fan heater, the noise of this could perhaps grate a bit on a long winter's night. Overall, highly recommended. Note there is no lift to first-floor rooms and several steps up to those on the ground floor so not ideal for wheelchair access.
