Fabulous weekend stay with friends. First stay here, having previously stayed at Watersmeet. We had a lovely big room with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. Fabulous greet from a very dapper chap in the car park. The facilities were fabulous, beautiful outdoor heated pool with changing rooms and showers, lovely grounds, great indoor pool with jacuzzi, and impressive looking gym.
We are on evening in the brasserie and it was very lovely food, but lacking in ambience in the back room. We also went to the cinema, which was great too! As always the area was fabulous, enjoyed another wonderful curry on barricane beach and fabulous walks in lymouth. As well as boarding on the beach. The breakfast at the captains table, 5 mins from hotel was superb.

From the moment we arrived the service we got was second to none. Jake ( I hope I remember his name correctly) expertly guided us to our room and delivered our bags, Olivia the waitress in the breakfast room was a delight to talk to and even though we were the last to eat she made sure nothing was too much trouble. We dined in the brasserie and again the service was excellent as was the food so much so we are going back for a second time. The food is first class and not so much more expensive than another local eatery with a less superior menu / service, worth every penny.

Can't understand why these coastal hotels are charging 5.50 (5th April 2022) for a pint of Korev, Cornish lager? My friend owns a hotel in Newquay and sells the same lager for 4.38.that's 1.12 a pint difference. That said the staff are welcoming and friendly. and if you visit in the near future, check out one of the barman's moustache and beard set.
Very stylish. It's a shame that this venue, like The Kelvin Art Gallery in Glasgow, seems to have been built on the wrong axis? From the bistro and bar you only have a very limited view of the ocean?

Went to the restaurant for a quick lunch. The outside of the resturant does not show how lovely and modern the decor is. The food was lovely, ingredients were good quality. Returned for Easter lunch and boy it was delish, great ambiance and food was freshly prepared, high quality ingredients. If I was local I'd be visiting often.

This review is for the spa, we booked a spa day during a visit to Woolacombe and it was amazing. Met with a warm welcome and bright smile from Ali before being shown the facilities, good sized pool, steam room, sauna and a great bubbling jacuzzi. We had booked massages and Heidi and Carol did a fabulous job in releasing our knots. Ended our day with a glass of prosecco and a pastry and a free facemask to try once home. We had a fantastic spa experience with a lovely friendly team.

For a purportedly four star hotel, I found the Woolacombe Bay sadly lacking. The staff were very friendly and professional, but the hotel itself not so. My wife and I were expecting to be pampered on her birthday treat, but paper napkins with our 35 breakfast was a surprise. A small room in itself is acceptable, but hard scratchy towels and cheap see through toilet paper definitely not so.
The thin small bathrobes did not please us at all. The wardrobe was so small it could not accommodate even my few shirts let alone my wife's clothes she had carefully packed. An ironing board helpfully available was stored by a wall as it took up a lot of the wardrobe space. We didn't get to try the food in the Brasserie resteraunt as the few things on the cheap cardboard, pub style menu seemed less than inspiring.
At breakfast a lady on the next table chose the fruit option for 15 and was presented with an apple, an orange and two over ripe bananas plonked on a plate, not peeled or sliced or prepared in any way. My wife and I decided to leave a day early as our home seemed preferable to this overpriced boarding house.

Absolutely fantastic. A really comfortable room with a sea view. Great facilities. Lovely grounds to walk through or to sit and relax. Wonderful food using top quality ingredients. Helpful and friendly staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended. Try it and if you don't like it, there's something wrong with you!

Do not stay if you have any intention of inviting friends in. I live up the road and recommended my friend stay here. She was made to feel she shouldn't be there when she arrived at the hotel entrance/carpark - essentially having to prove she was a legitimate guest. Then when I went to meet her for lunch I was not even allowed to step one foot onto the grounds - not even to go to reception through the car park.
Their policy is bonkers and I would recommend staying in any other hotel in the area I know first hand that the others actually give you what would expect from what is not an inexpensive hotel - good customer service.
