Despite all the bad reviews we booked a few rooms for Easter Break. OK get the problems out the way first. Leisure Centre not really open much during stay so that was a let down and although the email told us no food it is a bit of an issue for breakfast. Other than that it's a decent place which has parking, good access, decent sized warm rooms and fluffy towels.
Sure it's hardly luxury, but hey you are not paying luxury prices. As an ex hotel consultant may i offer the owners some words of advice. Update your listings on your website and booking sites. Stop pushing you are high quality with old images when you are not. Thats why you get so many complaints. You have created an expectation you cant deliver I get why you dont offer dinner, but breakfast is a basic necessity.
There are no venues locally and furthermore when you have kids driving elsewhere for breakfast then back is not really an option. Your prices were based on when you were a full service hotel. You are no longer full service but have retained the same price, thats not value for money or fair. The Leisure Centre is letting you down. Your literature promotes this as a selling point but you dont have control over access.
My advice yes include links, but stress customers book sessions direct. This way if they close whilst stopping with you its not your issue. Its a super place and the staff were friendly its just not good value for money mainly because of things you control such as leisure, food and price. Best of luck for the future Ps. Change venue name and start again taking these into account and things will change

I stayed here well for a few hours on Friday 18th we were due to be staying until the Sunday however my daughter was taken ill literally 3-4 hours after being there and we had to leave - now i asked at reception would they maybe refund half the stay due to these unforseen circumstances as my two year old is now on her way to A and E - I was informed they will sell the room on or either way they would refund the day at least - it is now Sunday and they are not doing anything and even accusing me of blackmail as i told them i would write a review - customer care and service ATROCIOUS! AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COST Jo was the person we dealt with!

Very dated and dirty. It would appear the owner has no interest in the place, other than it is place where he can extract money from the customers. The photos that are used. to advertise whop hall are from a different decade. We were told there was no food available because he would have to pay for a chef. Not that we would have eaten there I'd dread to think what the kitchen was like judging by the state of the rooms. This place is clearly on its last legs DO NO EVEN THICK ABOUT STAY HERE!

Spider Web right across the window with 2 flys in, dead flys everywhere in the room, a white tablet in the draw crunched into powder so can't identify what it was, dog hairs all over the carpet, the charged 22 for a 6 bottle rose. Looked so lovely on the pics and website, staff friendly and nice but obviously the cleaners are terrible. Never again
