The White Swan, one of Middleham??s most popular and attractive inns, has recently been extended and refurbished. The purchase of the town??s old Post Office has enabled owners Paul and Helen Klein to create a 60-cover brasserie and five new bedrooms, making 17 in all. Overlooking the town??s picturesque market square and boasting lovely rural views, the White Swan is now a premier town house hotel with superb facilities.

Good location overlooking the centre of the township and the castle beyond. You can't miss the sight and sound of racehorses on the roads, being taken out for training. The hotel is comfortable though I would suggest going for superior rooms. The staff were friendly, helpful and flexible. We stayed two nights and ate there both evenings as the food was good and they adapted the menu to accommodate dietary restrictions. The room was a little dated and there some minor issues but no real problems. We'll probably be back in the not too distant future.

A very good Hotel. We had a Double standard room. The Shower though i find hasn't much room to move in & i burnt my arm on the bar arrached to the wall. Otherwise clean & the room refeshed every day. The food is excellent. We asked for the dressing not to be put on the dressing, but still did it. The cook cannot boil an egg Lol.

Quaint and quirky but very hot with no air von or fans available at reception. Dinner good Breakfast plor with not all food available on menu. Staff welcoming. I am in my sixties and need a detachable shower head and none available in severL of the superoor rooms. With a bit of redecorating and imagination this could be a super hotel

Just spent two nights at this hotel that was very comfortable and warm. Staff very nice and obliging. We ate in the hotel on our first night which could have been better. I had pie which I found to be rather salty and the portion would not have been enough for a male. I had creme brulee for desert which was disappointing after I have tasted very good ones in the past. The breakfasts were very good and the lady serving was excellent.

Absolutely top-notch place! Staff could not be faulted, especially the main man (think he was the manager) who was exceptional, the very definition of good customer service. Food was arguably on par with some Michelin star places I've tried but with better prices and portion sizes! They went above and beyond for my vegan girlfriend, offering to adapt almost anything on the menu rather than doing what other places do of just suggesting one option.
I'd absolutely recommend this place to everyone. Just to clarify, this is a review of their bar/restaurant as we did not stay in the hotel, but I can imagine if kept to the same high standards as their bar and restaurant that this would also be 5-stars!

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay, we had a room which overlooked the valley and river Ure which was a nice treat on a morning. The room was clean and tidy in general but their was quite a build up of dust around the base of the sink unit and around close to the skirting boards, that's it. Staff were great and nothing was too much trouble, would stay again.

This establishment has gone back over the past couple of years. Little investment has been made to the property resulting in a very tired seating area in the bar which hosts very shabby furniture. The wallpaper is dirty and the bedrooms are tired and shabby. We used to love staying here but we're sadly disappointed this week.
