White House Hotel

Me and my 2 friends had lunch in the bar today. The steak was cooked beautifully and a very good portion. The Thai curry I was told was also beautiful. We will be coming back again. The lad behind the bar was very helpful.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. My room was good and the bathroom was excellent, however the bed was uncomfortable, the springs at seen better days. My room no 40 sat over the refrigerator, boiler or something like that as you had a loud humming whirring noise which kept me awake. I ate once during my stay there I ordered a fish pie which I had to send back as it was very cold in the middle. (being aware of food poisoning) the chips also had seen better days. They reheated it and brought it back. The veg was good. The ales were kept very well and the wine was good.

Most welcomed, nice staff. Some chairs in the bar area a little worn, but a pleasant atmosphere.

Went for a meal, staff were lovely, efficient and smart. The food was really good and we will definitely be coming back.

Up in Telford for a funeral and The White House was the venue for the wake. Adequate car park and well maintained externally. Staff were smartly dressed, polite and efficient. A good variety of finger foods presented. Neat and tidy throughout with clean washrooms. Small but well stocked bar next to the restaurant. Deserves more than its 2 star rating.

Lovely staff, comfortable rooms and plenty of parking. Food was good quality too.

The hotel surrounding and inside was over all good condition. The hotel room was clean and tidy but the dog noise coming from the other room on the corridor was quite disturbing.

The bar and restaurant is clean and comfortable. The food is good and the staff are friendly and helpful. It's a shame the tired rooms on the ground floor let this hotel down.

The staff are really good and it felt just like being with family, nothing was too much trouble. The food both at breakfast and in the evening was excellent. We were there for 3nights and really enjoyed our stay. As they had Sharps Doom Bar on tap my husband was more than happy.

Excellent service in accommodating our every need. Food was first class and staff were great.

Brilliant place to stay paid a cheap price had a room with king size four poster bed. Very impressive place. Drinks were brilliant lovely little bar that do cocktails. Will deffo go again.

It's clean and comfortable, but a bit rooms are a bit dated. Food at night was excellent as was the breakfast. But service at breakfast was very slow, short staffed in the restaurant but the bar had staff falling over each other but didn't seem to want to help out.

Not impressed. Booked a table for a meal for my husbands birthday. Sat down at table by window in corner, 3 dead wasps on dirty window sill. A wasp crawling towards me so a male member of staff moved it with paper and glass. Left dead ones there. I ordered veg thai curry and fluffy rice. Not fluffy rice. Veg curry was like water. I had a few green beans and mangetout in it with 2 bits of pepper. It will be along time before I return.

Bar open till 2am, which is not much fun when punters are outside your window being a tad rowdy. But to be fair the team moved us to a quiet room for our second night, which was appreciated. Staff were friendly and happy to help, and the hotel has a large carpark so you should have no trouble parking on site. Nice area in a quiet village. Overall I would stay again but it would be better if they closed the bar earlier.

Great "little" beer garden. Loads of space for all the family. Beer is cold and wet and good age range of punters. Do food but were just out for a couple on Saturday afternoon. Will definitely go back

The staff are wonderful and the food is great. My only gripe is that there are no twin rooms on the ground floor which means they cannot cater for a physically challenged person accompanied by a friend/carer. Otherwise it was a very good place to stay for a short break.

This was our first visit in more than 20 years and I wasn't really impressed. The receptionist was really friendly and polite and the first impression of our room was dated but clean. However the shower was faulty, the bath was slippery and there was an enormous cobweb on the headboard of the bed. When my husband went to complain about the bath and the shower the receptionist didn't seem to bothered.

He promised to notify maintenance and bring up a shower mat. These promises have not yet been fulfilled. To be honest there are better places to stay in Telford that are better value for money if you don't mind using an online booking service.
