The White Heather is a small, non smoking, family run hotel, with just 9 immaculately presented, ensuite bedrooms, enabling us to provide that personal touch often missing in larger hotels. We are more than happy to cater for both individual holidays and group bookings - up to 22 guests in total. If you want to have the place totally to yourselves, however, we would recommend you make your block booking well in advance.
Services
A warm welcome awaits you at our cosy 'home away from home', nestled on the harbourside in the idyllic village of Kyleakin, just over the Bridge on the Isle of Skye. The White Heather is a small, non smoking, family run hotel, with just 7 immaculately presented, ensuite bedrooms, enabling us to provide that personal touch often missing in larger hotels.
Viewers can choose from 4 different angles, focussing on loch, castle, mountain or harbour views specifically - just use the control panel and please be a little patient - depending on the number of users, the camera might take some time to change it's view to your request! You can choose to view the most recent images held in memory.
We hope to make the White Heather your true 'home away from home' and to this end we try to offer as many home comforts as we can. You don't even need to pack the "kitchen sink", 'cos we provide one! All 5 Twin/Superking rooms (Milovaig, Tokavaig, Kintail, Glenelg and Kishorn), have two 3' single beds (6'6 long)- each room can be booked as either a twin or a superking - please specify preference when booking.
Skye & Lochalsh is great for touring because the scenery round every corner is just stunning, so the journey itself becomes a highlight of the day and not simply a means to an end! The destinations simply slot into the driving route, rather than become the focal point - for instance, Eilean Donan Castle simply becomes part of a day tour round the Glenelg peninsula (using the original Skye Ferry at Kylerhea to leave the island), visiting the Iron Age Brochs, round to the stunning Loch Hourn, out over Mam Ratagan Pass, round Loch Shiel, by Kintail and up to Dornie where Eilean Donan can be visited along with the village and it's stunning mountainous surroundings, where Loch Long, Loch Duich & Loch Alsh all meet, before travelling back to Skye, perhaps through the idyllic little village of Balmacara, through Kyle and back onto Skye over the iconic Skye Bridge!

I would 100% recommend the White Heather. It is a lovely hotel and restaurant. The rooms are spacious, stylish and well-appointed, and the bathrooms very clean and new. The full Scottish breakfast was the best we had in two weeks across Scotland! And the dinner was delectable. Gary Fisher is a fantastic general manager and made us feel so welcome. We wish we were there for longer, and hope to return one day!

Had lunch there last Sunday for the first time. The food was amazing and plenty of it. I went for the black pudding and haggis fritters for a starter followed by fish and chips. The fritters were delicious and my fish(massive)was equally as good. Lovely friendly staff and very relaxed atmosphere with plenty on the menu.

I was welcomed as soon as I came in the door today. The lady took away my wet umbrella to dry off and assured me I'd get it back before I left - which I did . The special menu was fabulous, really different and made it hard to decide what to choose. The chicken burger I chose had proper butterfly chicken, skirley, bacon, onion rings and a wonderful homemade creamy mushroom sauce.
It was accompanied by a wee pot of chips and fresh salad. Honestly the best burger I have ever had! I would have no hesitation recommending the White Heather to anyone and will do when I get into work and can't wait to go back. Well done

Went for afternoon tea with friends and this one of the best we've ever had. Staff were lovely and attentive, always checking that we had enough of everything, nothing was too much trouble, they even offered doggy bags before we asked. Brilliant selection of quiches, sausage rolls, sandwiches and lovely cakes. First class!
