Services
We're lucky to have a fairly comprehensive record of the White Hart's history from the past couple of hundred years. Below is a list of every owner known since the pub became the White Hart, 170 years ago. He was the first to give the hotel the White Hart name and he held the licence for 6 years. He held the licence for 5 years and the 1851 census shows he lived here with his wife and two sons. All court licence records have been lost and all surviving duplicate licences for these periods have been checked.
We are located in a quiet street close to Dumfries town centre, the River Nith and a wide range of historical, leisure and outdoor activities that are on offer in Dumfries and Galloway. Dumfries Ice Bowl is a few minutes walk from the hotel and comprises a dedicated Ice Hockey / Ice Skating Rink as well as a dedicated Curling Rink.
We offer good quality accommodation at reasonable prices with single, twin and double bedrooms available on either room-only or bed and breakfast basis. Bedrooms are all en-suite with toilet, shower and wash-hand-basin. Since the Whitehart is a pub with rooms we are unable to accommodate families with children. The owner Susan is a welcoming & delightful owner of White Hart. Available all days except for Sunday's. And always up early to accommodate YOU & make proper English / Scottish breakfast. always welcoming & smiling There's a night club there, which I barely noticed, but SOMETIMES in the weekends for those who like that scene. It DIDN'T bother me MUCH I can highly recommend this place, what you get for YOUR MONEY, exceeded my expectations. A good 'rty brekky, is a great START to any DAY too. Cheers

Located almost, but not quite on the river front so the views are not to write home about. Room was very spacious, but there were signs of damp on the wall. The TV wasn't in a good position for watching from bed, but thats not important. The breakfast was delicious and very filling. The rooms are above a lively pub, so expect some noise if you plan to go to bed early.

The white hart is a nice bar with rooms which sells alcahol at much cheeper prices than most of the local competition. I have always enjoyed having a drink in the white hart apart from the one time i walked in and got started on by some guy whos dr marten boots went above his knees. You get a house double vodka and dash for 2.50 and a range of tray bake treats which are always a delight. Toilets where clean and well kept which is a rare sight in a dumfries pub. I am unable to review any of the rooms though as i have not yet had a chance to stay there as i have family in dumfries which would spare me accomadation in dumfries.

A great pub/hotel with attentive and efficient bar staff and friendly clientele. The juke box is connected to the internet so just about any number ever produced can be played. Rock is a favourite sound. Saturday night there's a disco. Most nights the pub is open to 2am. As far as dubious deals are concerned, the attentive staff make sure nothing like that goes on in the premises.
