My Mother and Father, Dorotht and Bryan Catt used to own The Ventnor Towers Hotel back when I was a little girl. I used to play in it in the off season when there were no visitors. It was and always will be my Fairy tale Castile. My parents built the house next door and the swimming pool. My sisters used to play tennis and the croquet and golf course was always in use.
My Father was a very talented man musically so there was a lot of wonderful cabarets full of dancing and singing, and I remember my sisters wedding day when she had the dinning room full of family and friends. Mummy also made everything wonderful with her many talents, one being making the bar downstairs look like a Thatched cottage. I miss those days of dreaming wish I could go back, wish it was mine again.

I have often passed Ventnor Towers Hotel, and I would actually love to stay there, it must be steeped in history, especially having had a helicopter landing pad in the grounds. I love the location. Bonchurch is one way and Ventnor the other way. I beleive the hotel has been refurbished lately.and I am not sure if everything is finished yet to restore the hotel to its former glory.
The views must be amazing from the windows over looking the sea.as I have only seen the Hotel from the outside. I can't say more.it looks so unique. Madeira Road that the hotel is in, has been visited by Churchill and Gandhi.and possibly Charles Dickens and more, so if you are into history, and the quirky and unusual, this place could be for you.

If you read reviews of this hotel they are very mixed. The reality is this hotel is NOT open for business. They will give you a room but the hotel door is always locked; there are sheets all over the lounge; there is scaffolding up and building work happening; the pool is empty and in a state of disrepair. and yet this hotel is still being advertised on many booking sites. DO NOT BOOK THIS. DO NOT ALLOW THIS DESPICABLE TRADE TO CONTINUE.

Faulty Towers meets The Overlook Hotel from The Shining. Both hilarious and mildly terrifying. Under no circumstances should this place be open. The exterior was essentially a building site, and the interior was not much better. The place has been vacant for a year and it shows. Wallpaper peeling off, broken furniture, torn curtains, and sink taps that were somehow facing the wrong way.
There was no WiFi anywhere but 2 inches from the router in reception. The dining area looked like an old school hall. The tennis court was just straight up tragic. The 'heated pool' was a swamp with a broken fence. The 'golf course' was an overgrown hill with a sheer drop off the cliff edge with no protective barrier. There was also a smattering of broken glass lying around.
Please don't bring your children here if you want them to live. I would like the add that the staff were clearly trying their best in what was an absolutely dire situation. The manager was trying so hard in fact, that he let himself into my dad's room while he was on the toilet, and waited outside to hand deliver his new key card. Oh yeah, the key cards didn't work either.
Nice view of the sea though. If you like 1 star hotels for the price of a 5 star hotel, then this is the place for you. If not, then recommend this hotel to someone you don't like.

Lovely place, lovely room, lovely staff! The shower was amazing! *.* view from window was wonderful, both during the day and night and we had the most amazing breakfast the next morning! I wish there was a beach closer to the hotel, that's the only thing I can mention. But for all the other positive experience I would definitely go back there! Recommend to others :

Beautiful place, friendly staff that go the extra mile. it's comfortable, clean, has Wi-Fi, warm pool, towels for both pool and suits, breakfast yummy too and best of all its looking at the sea. It's a real Jem. For those who say it needs updating I say never judge a book by its cover. Highly recommended.
