Vale Hotel Golf & Spa Resort

Had afternoon tea yesterday which was superb. The waiter was friendly and kept checking that we had everything we needed and kept us topped up with tea. The quality of the food was excellent and and a fab selection. We sat in the conservatory, the atmosphere was lovely. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all 6 of us. Highly recommend

Overnight stay in this beautiful and very quiet resort that was very relaxing and peaceful. The staff here are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is advisable to book a table in advance if you wish to eat in, as it seems very popular. The rooms and the hotel throughout are of a high standard and very clean. A stay here is highly recommended.

Poor check in experience, room wasn't ready at 3pm, was asked to wait until one would become available (but wouldn't be given an exact time). Was told check in is FROM 3pm; surely they don't treat check out as FROM 11am. Wanted to get to the room asap so was eventually given a different room category to what I had booked with a window facing a wall and staircase. Rooms and hotel feel dated. Wouldn't recommend.

Overall the complex is superb. The two golf courses are excellent and in great condition. The hotel has very good facilities and provides s good service. I was there on a golfing package Sunday/Monday 22nd/23rd May and our evening meal was good with the staff coping well with us and several other parties. The lower "Service" score is a reflection of the service we experienced in the "Golf Clubhouse after our rounds of golf.

The staff on duty did well but it was quite clear there were nowhere enough staff to deal with all the people wanting eat and drink before and after their rounds; a 30 minute wait for a simple cheese baguette/sandwich! That said it was still a really good experience

Went to the vale resort for a spa day. Staff were really lovely and helpful. We couldn't stay in the jacuzzi for more than 10 min as the chlorine seemed really strong and was burning our eyes, there was another couple and a gentleman in there that said the same but also mentioned it's not usually like that but today was seemed really strong. I'm not a pool person so we were really looking forward to spending time in the jacuzzi so it was a real shame.

The massage was amazing, so relaxing. Afternoon tea was disappointing, sandwiches were lovely and fresh. Scones seemed like cheap shop bought ones and where so dry the stuck to the roof of your mouth they were awful. Cakes were ok nothing special, macaroons my absolute fav had no filling in the centres really disappointed for a 4 star hotel. Although we made the best of it not what you expect for almost 200 for 2 people. I wouldn't go again and, this is disappointing as I lots of my friends have had lovely experiences here. Maybe today was just unlucky.

Very impressive resort, played a round of golf on one of the two courses, the greens weren't great but it was March and only to be expected that time of year. The club house and pro shop staff were very polite and helpful, one of the green keeping staff ran over my ball on the fairway which was not funny but apart from that i high recommend a visit and I will be back soon

So my friends and I came to the resort for a Spa Day Package 85 per person. We arrived at the hotel and thought we'd have some lunch first in the bar & grill. Every table was dirty with plates etc and service was extremely slow/no one seemed to know what they were doing. The food was lovely though. When we then went up to the Spa, a lady stood behind the counter, not acknowledging us for a good 10 minutes and when she did, was very vague in what the itinerary was.

In regards to the spa day, it would be good to be shown around the pool area etc and advised of the parent and children's time in the pool as this was not relaxing at all. Also, the afternoon tea had no labels on to tell you allergies or what anything was and it would be good to know before hand that it is a buffet. However, the food was lovely. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco which took half an hour to arrive with 2 of us going back to check where it was. Finally, all 4 of us asked for the same treatment, to find out that they were all different?

It may be good to have consistency across the board as some had arms done, some had neck, and some didn't. Also 2 out of 4 of the therapists spoke the whole duration of the massages, actually discussing previous guests and their 'pubic hair' which is very unprofessional. All just seemed very unorganised.

Staff were fantastic so helpful & friendly. Was surprised as a 4 star hotel not to have better refreshment facilities in the room. Bedroom _ executive suite was really lovely nice balcony & spacious room. Better refreshment in room even a few snacks. Food - delicious so fresh gorgeous flavour & presentation. Staff super friendly. Bar- nice Staff shame last order was early.

As a child free night would have been nice to have a few more drinks chilling. Golf- very wet & muddy pitch - only did 9 holes so wasn't charged the full amount. Shame for such a famous golf course lits of temporary things in place. Over all a wonderful stay but could do with some updates & tweaks.

Our stay was a massive disappointment. Too many guests, not enough competent staff. Prices have gone up, standards and service have dropped.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is very nice, clean and well located to the M4. Food was excellent apart from the sausages at breakfast. Lol. Lots of facilities like golf, gym, swimming pool and spa but we didn't partake of these so can't comment. Car parking is excellent. Rooms are spacious with ironing board and kettle. Few niggles as to the light switches in the room which weren't very well situated. Bit strange there but otherwise okay.

My partner and I stayed here this weekend for a spa getaway. The pool and massages were amazing ( I had the pregnancy massage). the sauna and steam room were very busy, so my partner struggling to get in in. one. but the relaxing room were great, especially the heated water bed. The staff upstairs at the spa where delightful as where the people working in reception (I believe we were served my Karys).

For us the only negative experience we had was at the grill, the food was cold and it took over 20 minutes for the gentlemen to ask us for our order after giving us the menu. The breakfast however, was lovely.

A grand Hotel, with lovely comfy and clean rooms. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was difficult to get space in and the spa is in need of a bit of tlc but would recommend for a great get away.

Room was nice. Breakfast varied and well cooked. But beware - we waited absolutely ages for our evening meal. To be fair, it was decent food when it arrived, but the wait got ridiculous. We sat for over half an hour with just a jug of water. The wine order had been forgotten! Perhaps they were short staffed because of Covid, but they should have made that clear. Aside from that, had a great massage a nice sauna and swim. Parts of the building are a little worn and tired looking.

I am a member of the leisure club. My membership was on hold whilst I was pregnant. My baby is now 3 months old. I wanted to take her for a swim but was told very rudely and aggressively by Lucas that my membership had not been reactivated and so I was not allowed in with my child. Explained then that my husband would take my son and daughter for a. swim but could I just change her in the changing area and then hand her to my husband as he was changing my son. Lucas refused and I had to get my daughter changed and dressed in the waiting area.

He was so obnoxious! Such a shame as all other staff are polite and accommodating - we've not had a problem before when we've brought our children in whilst my membership was on hold.

Me and my sister stayed here for 2nights on a spa break, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food was really nice and the rooms are nice too. Would recommend and would definitely go again.

Had a lovely stay at The Vale. The staff there are exceptional and we couldn't fault any of them. Good food as well.

Lovely room, only fault it was quite a walk to the dining room for out evening meal and breakfast. Food was first class, pool and spa facilities looked tired, lot of children in the pool having lessons, felt very safe as temperatures were taken before we used the spa and pool.

Christmas staff party, very disappointed with the night, food was very disappointing and not hot.service at the bar was redicilous, every time went to the bar there was at least a 15 minute wait, serving people. large rounds then allowing them to take shots at the bar while we are waiting. lost out on money as didn't bother to continue to drink much as just waited the night in queues

Place is great, Absolutely amazing food and service 5 . highly recommended. Staffs super friendly and helpful. we will definitely be back xx

Big mistake. We weren't booked in. But no problem. Lovely cup of coffee while waiting to be sorted. Looking forward to our Christmas eve spa. Staff very friendly and helpful. So we'll impressed. All sorted.

Went to a good friend's wedding here. The venue was lovely, the staff were attentive. I am only marking it as 3 stars due to the fact that at the end of the evening I went to the toilet. Whilst I was washing my hands I noticed a member of the bar staff leave a cubicle, having heard the flush already, and simply leave the toilet without washing his hands. Unfortunately, due to how late it was there was no manager to report this too and thankfully at this point the bar had been closed so he wasn't going to serve anyone like that. Even so, that is really quite unacceptable behaviour, especially if you are customer facing.

My wife and I joined a couple of months ago and we have not regretted it at all. The staff are very polite, attentive and always ready to help with all requests. The facilities are excellent and the gym has lots of different pieces of equipment to enjoy. We also really love the pool steam room hot tub and spa area. They even have an electronic whizzy thing to dry your swimming shorts in the changing rooms and they provide shower gel in the showers which smells really nice too. What more do you need when you want to chill out question my wife and I highly recommend this place. It is very relaxing and we always feel very chilled out when we leave.

With ample public spaces, white decor, numerous comfortable upscale rooms and a car park big enough to serve an entire retail park, this is very much a wedding hotel. The attached gym has an excellent high-ceiling pool that is plenty large enough for lap swimming. The grounds are big enough for a pleasant stroll down to the lake. I expect this venue would do any nuptial couple proud.

Food in cafe very expensive 11.50 for a substandard sandwich ( was given a refund immediately to be fair )

Enjoyed the visit despite the weather. Disappointed that I was booked into a room, with a double bed when I needed it to be singles. A late night change sorted it out but changing rooms at 2300 wasn't fun! The rooms have always been amazing in the past and, with a superb range in the breakfast bar, provide a good start if you are playing either of the courses!

My husband and I stayed at the vale on 5.11.21 for a one night stay to include 3 course dinner in the Vale Grill which is described as fine Dining. Not the case. The menu was not as advertised online. Lots of the choices had been deleted off the menu leaving a very limited choice. My husband had decided during the afternoon to have the 8oz sirloin.

Unfortunately this was not on the menu and had been replaced with a 6oz ribeye steak (with 5 supplement) and was was dreadful. For the price it was very bad value for money. My chicken supreme (thought this was a white wine cream sauce) came as a piece of chicken drizzled in some sort of balsamic sauce. Very disappointed. The starter that we had both chosen was also deleted from the menu.

Limited choice and poor service. The starter arrived within minutes if being ordered and then a 45 minute wait for the main meal. The hotel is fab but the Vale Grill food is really poor for approx 38 per head.

Great golf, hotel bar & restaurant staff seem to be inexperienced & under trained.

Fabulous room and the surroundings are beautiful. Well worth a visit.

Amazing staff, really friendly and helpful! Beautiful spa, thoroughly enjoyed my massage. Evening meal and breakfast at the restaurant was fantastic. My only suggestion would be to extend the menu to give more variety to cater for Gluten free dietary requirements. All in all I had a fantastic time and will 100% be staying again!
