Hi Mel, I just wanted to take the time to thank you and all of the team at The Thurrock Hotel for helping to make our special day perfect and run so smoothly. All of the staff (not just for our wedding but also our general stay at the hotel) were all so friendly and helpful, but most importantly very patient and understanding, it really felt like they were celebrating with us. We really did have an amazing day and thank you for managing to change and re schedule the whole day based on our rather early ceremony.
With a Red Carpet Welcome, our BBQ & Garden Wedding Packages have been designed to provide an informal reception in a relaxed atmosphere with a delicious BBQ or Hog Roast in the garden yet still give your special day the WOW factor! The Garden Suite is perfect for weddings of between 50 & 200 guests and benefits from doors which open onto the terrace area, so if the weather is fine you can take your party al fresco! During the warmer months the terrace and garden makes a beautiful area for a BBQ or Hog Roast outdoor party.

I attended my friends wedding 18th June and it was ok but the room was not very clean. And breakfast on the 19th next morning was terrible, poor woman chef was doing everything, don't know why there wasn't any waiting staff? Booze up in brewery comes to mind, what's up with management? Breakfast was good, but the service was terrible

Beautiful large hotel. Night shift receptionist was so helpful and polite. A very good taken care of hotel. A great nights sleep, no noise, very peaceful location, beautiful country side to wake to. Plenty of parking

Been staying here nearly 20 years, its clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced accommodation. The staff are genuinely lovely and very helpful. Give me a family run Thurrock hotel over a premier inn any day

That was one of the most peculiar stays I've ever had!. Although the hotel premises were by 100% as described in Booking.com and in general were a very good value for money, the overall daily management has been obviously given away to completely amateur youngsters (.most likely, sumner working Uni students), who although polite, were obviously lacking any professional knowledge and experience about operating a hotel. Moreover, the same apparently applies to the overall administration of this hotel, considering that one one hand, the room in general, was properly equipped regarding all the basics, but was lacking specific items, that are maybe not seem at a first glance, but eventually, are proven to be necessary, or even, commodities, in nowadays normal hotels, especially those that belong to international bug chains, such as "Best Western" is.

The reception was totally unattended and an extremely bored sleepy youngster showed up only after about 10' from my arrival. There's was neither any minibar in the room, nor even at least, some bottled water. On top, the vending machine at the lobby, although filled with water bottles, was not dispensing any, as when still water was chosen through the keyboard, a stupid message was appearing on the screen, writing "Product unavailable"!.-:)))) The bathroom, although comfortable and equipped with a shower cabin, did not have anything in it, except of an ancient (really!.) shower tube, WITHOUT, neither any handheld hose, nor any running downwards tap.-:((( The "cherry on the pie", was the hand washing basin, which, although big and deep, was equipped with the ANCIENT, COMPLETELY STUPID and USELESS nowadays SEPARATE Hot/Cold water taps!.which were in use, back in the 19th century, for mixing in the basin the hot and cold water to a medium temperature, proper for washing the face of a human, LIVING IN THE 19th century!.-:)))).I know that Brits are keenly stuck on their (.whatever!.) traditions, but this "wash basin system", is far beyond UNACCEPTABLE nowadays, especially in a hotel that belong to a global chain, line "Best Western"!. Last but not least point of ridiculousness!.: They didn't have even a brush, for wiping the toilet basin!. So sorry for their student cleaning ladies!

While I haven't stayed in rooms here, I have attended regularly for charity events the hotel hosts. The rooms we use for the function and side rooms are lovely, well kept. We have meals during our day and always great quality, served by polite, professional and friendly staff. Beautiful dining hall. There's a large car park, a couple of disabled parking places, a ramp up for access to the entrance by the stairs.

I have never had any problems at this hotel, last time I was there I came out to my car and a green waxy mark was on my boot, it had likely been marked for theft. I notified the receptionist who took this very seriously, inspected the car and the others in the car park, put their security on alert for the night even though I wasn't staying the night. Excellent service and I would recommend based on this.

Very helpful staf and the manger was generous to give one of my party guests a free breakfast for 3. Cause she did not have enough money. That's what I call a kind person in heart.

Executive suite size was ok, clean. Horrible shower position but clean. I wish they provide a mini fridge. Requested sugar once and staff did come quickly but with little 6 sachets in . Location too close to traffic noise. And room was super hot without any hearing on. Bed/pillows were well comfy. Small TV not smart

Nothing at all wrong with basic especially as our room, while 'basic', was extremely clean and spacious with extra towels and pillows. Was at the hotel for a wedding. Great venue and such attentive, friendly and happy staff! Must give a shout out for Daniel who had to be one of the most charming and helpful waiters I have ever met! Despite a late night, he was serving breakfast with a smile and a cheery word and remembered my name which was a nice touch.

Excellent catering for the wedding breakfast- the meal was delicious and the wines very good. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and I liked how we weren't made to feel rushed even though a group of us were lingering round the table long after we had finished eating. Really good value for money for our overnight stay. Very comfortable bed. Must also add that seeing the staff dancing during the evening party was lovely! Great moves! Well done, Great Western! All boxes ticked! Thank you!

This hotel has no lift. We were on the third floor. Hotel was OK, it's just that my 76 year old mum didn't appreciate all the stairs. We got a good deal price wise and I would stay again but request ground floor.
